Season 7 starts this Sunday. Who's ready? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzwG8buwBik
Apparently the first two episodes of Season 7 got leaked; someone accidentally loaded them into the rotation on the Venture Bros. 24/7 stream on Adult Swim's website and aired them during SDCC Remember last season, how apparently AS failed to mention to Jackson and Doc that All This and Gargantua-2 counted as two episodes? So Season 6 ended on this really weird note that didn't really feel like a Venture Bros. season finale? Well the first two episodes of Season 7 were originally the last two episodes of Season 6, and holy Jesus either watch that shit right now or look out for spoilers because STUFF HAPPENS.
Its funny, I woke up today and saw Venture season 7 episodes 1 and 2 in my youtube inbox. Only watched the first minute of each, as honestly I want to watch the full things on air with my father. I can wait a few days if it means watching them with my dad, who also loves the show
I watched all of venture bros a while ago and wanted to rewatch it but I found the earlier episodes a bit rough. Is there a good place to start rewatching the show from?
No spoilers for the new episodes, but if you can start literally at the beginning, do so. Season 1 is a little rough, since the show was still finding its place, but you'll definitely at least want to rewatch Careers in Science before tuning into Season 7. Season 2 is where things really picked up and we got episodes like Escape From the House of Mummies and Victor Echo November, so that's usually where I start if I feel like marathoning the whole thing. If you just want a refresher on the overall plot, watch this and pick it up from Season 5 onward: https://youtu.be/6CHVLSY_Hrk But again, and I can't stress this enough, definitely at the very least watch Careers in Science and all of Season 6 before tuning into the new season.
Yeah, you can skip *most* of season 1 and a majority of season 2. Season 3 is where the show starts hitting its stride.
The grand return of the Problem Light was even more incredible than I could've ever dreamed
At least we know what happened to Jonas Venture now
From memory I think Season 1 was the funniest, just the weakest in terms of plot.
Watching it again, it's nearly Rick and Morty in terms of character flatness. Unlike RnM I'd say it's watchable, however the show didn't hit its stride yet and they also didn't expect it to last more then this single season with the way it ends
Brisbyland has to be one of my least favorite episodes in the whole series
Yeah, it's why I say that most of season 1 is skippable as well as a majority of Season 2 I know the hive from Brisbyland gets brought back once but AFAIK Dr.Quinn doesn't get so much of a mention even five seasons later.
Dr. Quymn was Season 3
We saw her jet - once - in Return to Spider Skull Island but then she just seems to have fucked off. So that last episode. Wow. I was wondering if there was some connection to Wide Whale and manatee. But about the blue morpho - that is to say the real onese Did the blue morpho have some kind of secret secret-lair switch? That's actually the most reasonable conclusion I can come up with
We'll have to see, but that stinger makes the Vendata is the original Blue Morpho theory seem a lot less sound
I love this damn show... So happy it's back. Someone already mentioned it in this thread, but these first two episodes felt a lot more like a finale than a premiere
Oh it completely puts it in the dirt, assuming that this isn't some type of alternate-reality duplicate.
I dunno, Vendata was never seen again after the night at Don Hell's, and after Brock beats him up he starts going nuts about how "the plane is going down", which is confirmed to be how Monarch's parents died. Wouldn't be shocked if he recovered his memories, but I also wouldn't be shocked if Doc and Jackson knew everyone was expecting that and thus planned around it.
He's never seen again because he's presumed dead. The guild replaces members when a previous member died. It's how Phage and Dr.Ms.The Monarch got seats He's also not in a very good state by the end of the episode
But he's not confirmed dead. Brock left him babbling in a toilet stall and no one on the Guild has seen him since, so they replaced him. The golden rule of Venture Bros is "if you don't see a body, they're not necessarily dead". See Molotov Cocktease and Monstroso. Seeing as how they confirmed Wide Wale's brother was Dr. Dugong, I'm willing to bet that one of the big reveals for the next episode is that Vendata went all Alex Murphy, recovered his memories, and returned as the Blue Morpho in order to solve the PROBLEM. Also, someone on /co/ pointed out that Gary likely overslept because the "real" Morpho snuck in, tranq'd him, and stole the Morpho-Mobile.
That's not a bad theory with 24, but the biggest mystery ito me is how the lair got switched to a common garage
Anyone in the US, they're airing the episode early on the Adult Swim stream: Live Stream
"Arrears in science" … Now don't spoil for me if your going to see it (or if you are, put it in the spoiler text spoiler text so I know not to click) but there are a few things I can guess from the name It's a "follow up" of sorts to the season 1 episode "Careers in science" According to dictionary definitions (because to be honest, I have never heard the word before and thought it was a butt joke - still might be), arrears means.. "money that is owed and should have been paid earlier" "an unfinished duty" "a unpaid debt" So, who then squelched on the debt?
Here's the list of episodes you should have seen/should brush-up on before watching this one: Careers in Science, Past Tense, Bot Seeks Bot, all of Season 6 (including All This and Gargantua-2), The Venture Bros. and the Curse of the Haunted PROBLEM, and The Rorqual Affair. And you could say that a debt is involved in the main plot; although in this situation it's less of a "debt" and more of a "vendata".
It sure is a loaded episode. Confirmations on Vendata being Blue Morpho, Jonas being the Monarch's biological dad, and an answer on when and how Jonas died. I think all we need now is an answer to "who" killed him.
My theory? It was Red Death. Think about it, this was back in his wild years, before he became the (more or less) well-adjusted family man who knew to keep his work and his life separate. He said he kept his space suit on to hide his face, but what if he kept it on because he knew the bay doors would be opening? So he blows the entire civilian populace of Gargantua-1 (along with Jonas) into space, satisfying his blood lust, only to get spotted by a young boy who snuck away from the movie to go jerk it. That boy? Bud Mannstrong. Boom, Phantom Spaceman.
When has Thaddeus ever not welched on a debt.
mate I've watched every episode at least twice, some much more then that.
You're golden then, strap yourself in for a wild-ass ride.
Amazing episode tonight, but I do have one complaint/question I don't recall any mention of Jonas dying due to Sphinx in the past. The revelation that Soverign started the Pyramid Wars would probably have more kick to it if I did. So... was this mentioned in the past? Because I feel I missed something
