i have 64gb of internal storage, and 128gb of expanded storage. Theres no way you'd ever fill both completely unless you take pictures of everything you see, or record videos excessively, 1TB of storage is double the average consumers storage on their pc

maybe a few years ago but why would you need this much storage on a phone? Just keep stuff on the cloud, stream your music and keep some music locally in-case you lose internet? What else do people put on their phones lol

I, for one, enjoy carrying around my entire, uncompressed music library on every device I own that can store it.

I would say “future proofing” but is it really worth future proofing if you’ve gotta replace the phone every 3-4 years?

It'd be cool if these became the equivalent of an old computer you turn into a media server 10 years down the line. The longevity and life cycle of these devices should be more carefully considered.

I have the hong kong version of note 8. It's dual sim and 230gb internal. This is truely amazing, although they best stick to snapdrsgon processor and not that inferior chinese Exynos processor. Can't emulate anything with that processor.

i went to screenshot my old walmart order where i ordered a 2gb flash drive, but their simply godawful new site doesn't let oyu view order history past 2015 seriously what happened with websites and them becoming MORE dysfunctional than sites older than 2015

Once our cameras catch up, we will have crazy huge file sizes with seemingly infinite zoom. A terabyte will become the base minimum.

I think the big marketing push behind the Note 9 is how much they're pushing everything. They're touting huge storage, and they've been hyping battery for awhile now. Really curious to see how this turns out - though I would imagine they are going to charge an absurd price for this ($1k)

Like i agree but also disagree. I preordered the note 8 and got a free 128gb card but samsung fucked up and actually gave me a 256gb card. So not including what is used by the os, a total of 320gb. So i figured i'd be absolutely set, after all yeah its just a phone. I used my phone as a flash drive as it was always more easy than cloud based storage because i was a field tech for healthcare IT. I often didnt have internet access at times or i'd need certain programs/files id otherwise not have access to so i always did use a pretty good amount of space on my phone to a point where 32gb was undoable and 64 was close. But after i was given the space suddenly i could backup an entire catalogue of software and have anything i needed on the go on my phone internet be damned. I didn't even know i needed the space and had no intention of using it but ended up looking at my phone and im well past 240 gb. Granted thats also probably like at least 10gb of porn and about 30gb of memes, my point stands.

And here I am still going along with my S4. haha I need a new phone.
