Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has again apologised for hurt caused to Jewish people by anti-Semitism in his party.
In a video message, he also admitted Labour had been too slow in dealing with disciplinary cases.
It
comes as his deputy Tom Watson warned the party could "disappear into a
vortex of eternal shame" and be unfit to lead if it did not tackle the
issue.
He gave a stark warning in The Observer, saying Labour had to take a "long, hard look at ourselves".
Labour has been dealing with a row about the extent of anti-Semitism within the party for more than two years.
Recently,
the focus has been on a new code of conduct the party has adopted on
anti-Semitism, with critics concerned that it does not go as far as the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's guidelines.
Curious to see what many people make of this whole situation

These shouldn't be on here, Corbyn is right.
Sadly this isn't enough to fully convince Pro-Israeli supporters and sympathizers to keep attacking him for being Pro-Palestinian.
But still, This will help of getting Centrist voters back to Labour Party.
If it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, and performs ethnic cleansing like a duck, it just may be a duck
Uh no it's the fulfillment of a prophecy and they deserve the land
It is known
fuck corbyn, guy has called Hamas members brothers and the labour party has had a history of tolerating and allowing anti semites to be open with their views with little to no punishment
If you support self determination for all people besides Jews then yes, it is antisemetic. However, you can (and should) be critical of Israel and its policies and demand they treat Palestinians better.
I find the following two statements true: Pro-Israel supporters often falsely group legitimate criticism of Israel with antisemitism AND Pro-Palestine supporters are often politically correct covers for antisemitic viewpoints.
It might not actually have anything to do with religion, but it's a major pretence by which Israel outwardly justifies its existence, continued conflict with Palestine, and garnering of financial and political support in the West.
No, most support for israel from the west comes from christians, Israel justifies its existence as a state for Jews in their historical homeland because non Jews cannot be relied on to protect their jewish populations, as shown by the Dreyfus Affair, the Nazis, the various Arab countries that kicked out all Jews, and now Labour's actions. The continued conflict with Palestine is a security situation and it's complex because the entire thing started off as a conflict with the Arabs and later pivoted to Israel V palestine
Israel adopts divisive Jewish nation
Israel passed a “nation-state” law on Thursday declaring that only Jews have the right of self-determination in the country
that's odd!!
???
Historically Labour was but that's not point. That Israeli government led themselves to make left-wing "Anti-Semites" to defending Palestinians. (Not including obviously terrorist groups that Israeli government unintentionally created for decades under repression since 1967 war ended)
You can be a Jew without being religious, it's an ethnic group as well
oh it's only an ethnostate that's a lot better thanks for clearing that up lol
fucking lol
"We're not a theocracy we're just racial supremecists" isn't a great defence, is it?
We can't compare Israel and the nazis but you get to compare labour and the nazis, on what grounds exactly? Are you a murdoch outlet, a deep cover antisemite, or just full of it?
Maybe gentiles like me would stop accusing you of weaponizing what you percieve as antisemitism, if you applied this scrutiny consistently instead of using it to own the libs exclusively.
Again. Labour appears to be diligently policing their members on this matter, and the whole ordeal is getting blown out of proportions by pro-israel and the world-famous british lügenpresse
And this is extra hilarious cause one of the major arguments that nazis and the alt-right make when talking about Jews and immigration is "why does Israel get to be an ethnostate but Europe/America doesn't".
Yeah, it's an ethnostate.
Literally the same thing that Hitler wanted. Being Jewish is an ethnic matter first and foremost, so Israel can't be considered anything but ever since the law was pased.
I am ashamed of the actions of Israel committed in the name of my people and you should be too. Extremism is nearly always bad, and this is no exception.
Man, the anti-Corbyn smears are incredibly effective for complete shit with zero substance.
The dude sits down at an negotiation, and strangely enough, doesn't start calling either side a bunch of complete irremediable shitbags. It's almost like an amicable demeanour is absolutely essential in diplomacy.
I hate that the worst thing the right has on Corbyn is that he pursues peaceful solutions with dangerous groups, and even more so I hate that the UK's media is so right-wing that they can actually convince people that's a bad thing.
Who gives a fuck if the Tories have literal former IRA members working within the party?, Who gives a shit that the Tories are selling record numbers of arms to regressive regimes, including those backing radical Islamic terrorism.
Corbyn spoke to some people with the intention of brokering a peaceful solution, so he's the real threat here.
I've programmed my Echo dot to play C-Span to wake me up in the morning. It plays the call-in segment, Washington Journal, around the time that I get up. The other day I was half asleep while some caller discussed facebook privacy issues. I woke up when he started screaming "the JEWS, THE JEWS AT FACEBOOK!!!" before being cut off.
