Lol, I see Wikileaks are keen to kill what little credibility they had left. Anyway, Facebook is a private company, they can people for whatever they feel like.
Once they ban FOX I'll start giving a shit what they say, but until then I'm going to say this was a long time coming.
the globalists win again
While I don’t particularly care fir infowars their concerns aren’t 100% wrong. Facebook is huge, many people rely on it entirely to communicate and gather news. Fearing that Facebook could potentially censor certain viewpoints is a scary thought, and one we shouldn’t ignore simply because they’re not a government entity - they hold a lot of power over people and need to wield it responsibly,

This image is clearly photoshopped, Facebook's unpublication headers are widely known to use size 16 font in the header line, NOT size 14 as shown. Furthermore check the timestamp on PJW's tweet - he tweeted BEFORE the media reported on the ban. Not suspicious enough?? DavesGenuineNewsSite.com cites sources reporting that the man we know as "Paul Joseph Watson" is actually a South African actor previously known by the pseudonym Jordan Ledger. Did these nationalist cucks really think they could fool us? Stay tuned for further reports on this emerging scandal
Facebook has permanently BANNED Infowars.
For unspecified "hate speech". They didn't even tell us what the offending posts were.
This sets a chilling precedent for free speech.
To all other conservative news outlets - you are next.
The great censorship purge has truly begun.
Yet if you were in charge you'd ban any left wing/LGBT voices and say it's your right as a private organization to refuse service to anyone. Hypocritical piece of shit.
"For unspecified "hate speech". They didn't even tell us what the offending posts were."
The lack of self awareness is tangible. I would love to see Mark Zuckerberg himself personally say "ALL of them. They're ALL offending"
…what if InfoWars itself pulled their page to stir the pot against FB? I wouldn’t put it past them at all.
If this gets the entire conspiratard crowd off the site it’ll be a much nicer place for everyone else lol
I'm glad to see that the Illuminati are finally cracking down.
Personally I'd rather look into ways to weaken their near-monopoly on people's lives to the point where it crumbles, but yeah regulating what huge networks like that can do isn't a bad idea either.
Praise Satan!
I understand the free speech argument, but this guy has spun up so many fucking crazies that we live in a world where people believe school shootings are staged with crisis actors...and it is because of people like him.
his youtube channel has also been taken down
Irregardless of whether the ban was justified, how can you call someone a hipercrit something you think they MIGHT do
???
All that's left to go are his Twitter and radio.
the ability of Facebook to censor rivial publishers
Facebook is a rival publisher of Infowars? What?
I guess you could say...

That Wikileaks tweet tho... wowiee
Wow the way this all came together in 24 hours kind of puts a hole in what these companies have been saying about "we can't just ban him!! first he needs to go through our standard three-strike process etc."
It's pretty clear that in reality no one wanted to be the first to do it, and then once it got going, no one wanted to be last
I find it funny everyone copies Apple, even when banning controversial personalities.
Mac users can still purchase an Infowars adapter for $59.99 if they want to continue using it
It's not a violation of free speech when a private company stops you.
If I let you borrow my megaphone, and you use it to scream at people and I take it back, that's not violating free speech, I am under no obligation to let you use my megaphone for anything.
Lol at WikiLeaks. What a bunch of tossers.
Because they have the agenda, intentions, and record to make that a reality.
I understand that. I never argued anything against what happened. I personally believe this is a good thing.
However, I can see how people might see this being a dangerous slope. Imagine if a conglomerate of power corporations bought up the majority of media outlets and began to pull anything they didn't want people to see regardless of the topic. Imagine if the internet became even more closed off, privatized, and scrubbed of anything that might cause alarm or concern for the general public. We already have an issue that private services essentially post what they want and remove what they don't want. This election just showed the power private companies have when it comes to influencing or allowing people to influence discussions we have. Would you be okay with facebook removing pages if the pages were inline with your political views?
I get Alex Jones is a piece of shit who has spun up a lot of crazies, but they're just a loud obnoxious vocal minority. Regular sane people can see him for what he is.
As someone who just finished up a lengthy Discord convo with a close friend, no, that's not necessarily true.
Those are not the ones we're worried about. Until america figures out how to do mental health services, the insane people should be made aware that their bullshit is bullshit. One thing to do that is to take away their microphone. It's that simple. The rest of the world care for these people, offer them medication or councelling and when they refuse that, it becomes a matter of letting them know when they're talking bullshit and being insane. Alex Jones isn't broadcasting informed opinions, he's broadcasting rampant delusions that fall under the category of insanity. He literally needs to be under care or medication. So does his audience.
Also, it's not their insane "opinions" people fear. It's the insane actions that come with said adherence to objectively wrong beliefs. Violence, bullying and all that "SJW bullshit". This whole idea that what he has is an actual opinion also needs to die. You can have two opinions and a discussion from it. but both sides need to be backed by factual observations or experiences and his is backed by neither. That goes for much of the right wing pundits and mouth-pieces as well... Goes for a lot of left-wing personalities as well tbh.
TL;DR: We might see him for what he is, but violently insane people obviously can't as made obvious by the fact that the "pinnacle of modern civilization and military achievement" is a country where citizens mass-murder each other more frequently than african warlords can be arsed to massacre civillians in Sudan.
a terrible loss for memes.
On the flip side if I'm in a position of power and able to decide who is crazy and have my experts testify you are crazy, i can literally use my position to discredit someone and take them off the air. You could be talking about something progressive and if I decided that what you said is crazy I can take you off the air. You are also talking about policing thought and what someone could potentially do. Alex Jones has been on the air for a long time, how many actual incidents of violence has he actually create by getting his view base spun up?
The main issue I see from your argument is about facts - science is not a absolute truth. Facts of today can easily be disproved by facts of tomorrow. Also don't try and talk about facts or scientific method if you're just gonna make little comment about the US being a country where citizens mass-murder each other more frequently then African warlords. You Lost a lot of points, it shows you're not willing to have a honest conversation. You basically think it is okay to censor people because of the "crazies." Don't use mental health as an excuse to silence people, it is a slippery slope.
If these companies were doing this for good and less for political reasons I wouldn't be to worried about it. But the fact they're doing it for political reasons is a bit concerning.
