At least it isn't as silly as Darth Vader and Yoda joining Soul Caliber.

this is by far the stupidest thing in gaming for years now. Harada is genuinely out of his mind to put such a fucking worthless nobody from a shitty TV-show in tekken. literally kiryu, majima or fucking mario would've been better choices.
I don't know, i kinda think that while TWD has become an empty shell of what it was, Negan is a really entertaining character that might work just because of how absurd this whole thing is.
I mean considering how batshit insane Tekken is I'd say it's par for the course
nah. negan is not par for the course. like literally what braindamaged asshole except that one dude on twitter said "Oh hey I'd like Negan in Tekken" instead of Mortal Kombat? and harada just went along with it?
Glenn and Abraham probably.
Don't really see what the problem is. The only thing that bothers me is that he would've fit in better in a Mortal Kombat game. Video games are made to be fun, and as long as Negan is fun there's nothing to worry about.
There isnt really a problem Its just baffling that they'd pick a character from a franchise thats not only gone to total shit, but isnt even really popular or relevant anymore.
With the way the hitboxes work in this game I'm intrigued to see what they do with a character with a baseball bat hitbox
TWD's popularity seems to have plummeted fast and T7 crossover characters have been in the pipeline for years. Wild guess but maybe they started the talks back when Negan was popular.
If that said pete and pete you could take all my fucking money
i can think of dozens of better choices than...this.
Even if people don't like TWD anymore i still see a lot of love for Negan, mostly cuz of the comics tho
I honestly don't see how (as a character) he's any weirder than the other guest characters.
Noctis being here instead of Soul Calibur weirds me out tbh
I don't think it's that he's weird, it's that he's kind of mundane, which is the weird part. You've got a ton of martial artists, a few oddballs like that robot girl or Noctis who uses literal magic, and then you've got this guy with a baseball bat. From a series where, as far as I can tell, there really aren't all that many fights. I honestly don't have anything against him myself, I'm just very confused about why they picked him.
It's a clear case of how you can transfer a character into their moveset. An experiment. You really think he's just going to be 'goon with baseball bat' ? He's going to have some fucking swagger to his swings and I'm excited to see how they can transfer actions from the show into his moveset.
It's not that I think he's going to be some generic character or something, it's just that when when it comes to a fighting game where a character turns into a devil and shoots down a satellite with eye lasers, a show with a zombie apocalypse that focuses more on how people interact with each other than the actual zombies isn't really a place I'd try to pull a character from for a crossover.
Most of the characters in Tekken besides the Mishima's are just generic people who study specific fighting styles. And to be honest, a character reveal like this -- that goes so far into the mundane; the idea itself becomes just as wacky as the devil satellite shit.
I'm keen don't know about you guys Imagine https://i.redd.it/ddc8mdiikle11.jpg
That worthless nobody is one of the most popular characters in a TV show that still has millions of people watching it vs a character from some niche Japanese video game with a couple of hundred thousand copies sold. Also Harada has said that the point of the crossover is to bring people who dont care about Tekken into Tekken.
Its more of, people want kiryu or majima because both are street fighters so it makes more sense for them to be there (plus majima is infamous for using an aluminum bat as his main weapon). Like Geese was a perfect fit for tekken, same with akuma. Noctics is ehhhh but at least he fits in with the animu style fighters with him.
Harada chose them because they're gameplay is so drastically different from Tekken, to help 2D fighting game players get adjusted.
Majima has 3 separate stances for moves, same with Kiryu. There's plenty of variety to use for either one.

What are you talkig about? Geese is to bring more 2D non-SF players into tekken and Noctis is from a JRPG. Theres no "theory" to it Harada said it on twitter himself that such things are deliberate business moves
