this movie will be fucking doomed if Bautista ain't in it
[the rock appears] "right here guys. I'm my same usual self, Drox the Destroyer"
"Drax died on the way back to his home planet."
how about quitting if James Gunn isn't re-hired? that's far more worth defending than his script.
Who would have thought that Dave Bautista of all people would have one of the most enjoyable characters in the MCU. I like Drax more than Rocket or Groot to be honest.
Wouldn't be the first time wrestlers were used to fake other wrestlers after they walked out.

Reportedly, James Gunn is pretty respected by the actors he works with, I'm not surprised.
I imagine Gunn will still get paid royalties or whatever if they continue to use his script.
Disney will just make Drax master his invisibility skills.
james gunn is most likely never getting re-hired, but there's still a pretty good chance his script will be used. dave bautista may want to send a message and make a stand against this, but he probably also really wants to keep his job.
All the actors are probably in a very uncomfortable position. All conjecture but: I don't doubt they respect Gunn, want to work with him, and want him fairly treated, but bad relations with Disney would be career ruining. It's unlikely Gunn wants any of the crew to destroy their careers over him.
Guessing that's just unrealistic.
He's probably legally obligated to appear.
I feel like you can make a pretty strong case that firing the director is a strong enough change in the project to nullify the contract. It's hard to deny GoG3 with Gunn is a completely different project to GoG3 with Gunn. Meaning that what they signed up for is no longer the same. But hey, Disney have enough money to be immune from that kind of thing. Plus getting into legal arguments with Disney would still be career ruining for the actors involved, regardless of whether or not they win. Also they wouldn't win... because Disney.
People like the Guardians movies, imo they're incredible. But I unfortunately I doubt enough people care about specific director's of specific MCU movies for Disney to be worried about damaging their public perception. The truth is that they can just ignore this until it goes away. Only a hundred thousand odd of the tens of millions of people who will see their movie and buy their merch are even going to know, and most of those people will be paying customers either way.
