EAC ban, what does it mean? - General Discussion

Hi guys I got a "Game Ban" whatever that is on my account, I have no clue what I have done wrong or if it is simply a mistake. I have tried to find information on what it means but frankly it is not that easy. 1) Suddenly banned can't see any reason and can't log in. 2) No emails no info at all. 3) Submitted a ban appeal to EAC, no response not even a "we received your appeal". 4) Cant even post here in this forum after ban... not making this any easier. So after googling a bit I found that there could be many reasons for the ban, some say that even my logitech mouse software could be the reason, but this is exactly the problem why cant I get any information. I honestly think it's just a mistake in the EAC, but I can't rule out that I broke some kind of rule that I don't know of. If I did it was definatly unintentional. Ofcourse what I would like the most was just getting back to playing the game, but right now I am just asking for a little help with understanding what this means and why it might have happend. Do any of you have answers to any of these questions: a) Can I see the reason for my ban anywhere? b) What does it mean to banned? is it ME that is banned or My Steam Account or the Game purchase. c) If the EAC do not lift the ban can I play again buy buying again or how does it work? Quite frankly I am frustrated right now, getting banned either wrongfully or maybe for some unintentional wrongdoing is annoying enough but receiving zero information about why and what it even means is simply not acceptable in my book. Is it even legal to stop the service I paid for without giving any reason? Anyway if you guys can answer any of the questions I would much appreciate it. Best regards Nicolaj

a) I'm not sure as I've never had an encounter with EAC, all I know of is a Twitter account announcing the bans, and the number of reports. https://twitter.com/rusthackreport b) It's your Steam Account that is banned, prevent you from every playing again on that account. c) Theoretically, you could re-purchase and play again, but I shall not go into that. I'd wait it out, I know it can be infuriating and you just have so many questions that need confirmed answers, but only time will tell.

@_MasterBB_ thanks for your reply, didn't now about that twitter, I checked it and it just said "banned" no reason. I wish at least EAC would send me a "we got your appeal and are looking into it" right now I don't even know if they got it.

Well it can take up to 24-48 and if not more to heard back from EAC, as you can imagine you not the only one appealing AND if you go to EAC page, you can see they have a LOT of games under their wing and not only Rust. There will be only two answers from EAC - you been banned for cheating (that's all you will get, no anti cheat company will give out details on what you got banned - so you don't try and avoid future Bans possibly and yes its Legal what they do and what answers they give you. Second - they will lift the ban and say it was a False ban (again you will not get as reason)

Please do not make threads about any of these. Nobody on this website will be able to help you with any of them and you'll just be wasting your time if you try anyways. If you really want help, try using one of these resources instead: If you got EAC banned/game banned/developer banned or something, take it up with EasyAntiCheat as they are the ones that handle them. Easy Anti Cheat If you got VAC banned, take it up with Steam Support Steam Support If you got banned from some random community server, take it up with them wherever they might be. Nobody here in this subforum will know what you're talking about or be able to help you. Again, nobody -here- can help you with these. If you make a thread about one of these anyways, it will just end up getting locked.

Hi guys The ban got lifted yesterday as I wrote earlier, so I guess it is purely a Facepunch issue now. However I still can't play on "EU Facepunch 1" where my base is, I can play on other servers now though. EAC wrote something about the server may need a restart. Do any of you know how often the server is restarted? ... ofcourse I hope I can get on in time to save my base. Best regards Nicolaj

Hi guys I still can't get on my own server "EU Facepunch 1" so I have now for many days not been able to log in and my base is either already beginning to fall apart or soon will. Who do I contact when the mistaken ban have been lifted and I can log in to all other servers than the one my base is on?

Just send a e-mail to Facepunch support, maybe they can help you manually remove the Server side ban - but you still might have to wait for Restart when ever it happens

Curls is a perfect example of someone who doesn't read the OP. Anyway, usually as stated you'll need to wait for the server to restart in order for the ban list to get refreshed and have your name and id removed. Seeing as it's an official server, restarts usually occur either when forced upon (DDoS, or any other issue) or when a forced wipe hits (Monthly) Hope this helps.
