You know you can just take that fake Owen Jones quote, replace Corbyn with Bannon and it would apply to this guy.
Oh well I'm sure he'll find some other way to get attention soon enough.
I think this case is complete bullshit, but I do think it certainly isn't helping him, even though I think it's admirable, that he's publicly and repeatedly stating that he's going to defy any sentence he's given... And from that appeal document, it sounds like his lawyer at least endorses that attitude.
I dont really think its helping that he's running this dumb nazi gimmick to the ground whenever he got a chance
so despite what I feel about the case itself no sympathy tbh
What really gets me is that these pieces of human refuse probably feel so safe doing this because they're used to getting away with this kind of shit all the time, so they're just doing with what they usually do. You don't criticze/threaten the defendent's lawyer for doing their job in an appeals rejection unless you're surrounded by other like minded corrupt officials, they lied their way through the original trial so it all follows along.
Yeah mate it's a bit hard to convince anyone that it was a joke in good honest fun when you simultaneously surround yourself with nazi symbolics, neo-nazi fuckwits, join UKIP and ask peope to do the same.
It's like a guy being wrongfully accused of arson and who tries to defend himself while simultaneously pouring a hundred and fifty gallons of gasoline all over a pine forest.
The case is stupid but I'm glad that it happened to this guy
If you don't bother standing up for someone, then the people who do are people you hate, you have no right to criticize that person for taking that help. Obviously a neonazi has fundementally different motives, but if their set of motives leads to trying to defend an obvious failure in a justice system and yours leads to mocking that defense maybe it's time to realize that today, you're lower than a neo nazi.
The dudes a total piece of shit but he shouldn't have been charged with this. I don't buy into the propaganda about the UK being a dystopian police state but the law he is talking about clearly needs, at the very least, broad prosecutorial reform.
Sure they want to exterminate and enslave millions of people, but hey guys. What if we're the true monsters here
The point im making isn't that you're going to score lower on your preferred end-of-life evaluation than a neo nazi because you said some edgy shit on the internet. Im saying there's no reason you need to let yourself be more evil than a neonazi on any individual issue. If a neonazi is doing the right thing in a situation and you're doing the wrong thing it's time to wrest whatever nugget of good they're monopolizing from them and elevate yourself above it.
Those nuggets of good are being used as recruiting tools, all because some people are too petty to support someone in right right because he talks to someone they hate.
This is about about context.
The case is stupid but it's also a dangerous precedent.
Some raggedy old jews and the blind dogmatic court officials that are being pressured by them are refusing to examine the context of a man teaching a dog a stupid trick. Detach yourself from how you feel about his comedy and respect the issue at hand.
But it's happening to that one guy I don't like so fuck it let the integrity of the courts degrade into a 'dystopian' nightmare when it's convenient for me.
Everybody was behind Dankula on this, then he decided to support the "wrong party" and now he deserves it.
Lol, ok.
Lmao this attitude makes you worse than he is
I don't think anyone thinks that the case going forward is okay. The stance people are taking is clearly more nuanced than that. It's along of the lines of "this shouldn't be happening, but it's hard to sympathise that it's happening to this particular guy because he's a cunt, but it shouldn't be happening nonetheless".
His mask slipped and people realized his excuse was a load of bull.
This would be much better wording than the original point tbh, I don't think my post actually truly applies to you
Like I agree that you can hate him till the cows come home, but the people who do genuinely support it (Aka, the people that charged him) are such cunts
Yeah the guy's a racist and palms it off on comedy basically every time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExAydddhsIk
Watch this and genuinely think this guy doesn't have a huge fuckin racist streak in him
i support him in this blatent disregard for context by our justice system, and i disagree with his views and his choice in political party
lol I saw through his BS from the beginning and got shit on here for it. The guy was a blatant far-righter at best, and a possible neo-nazi at worst(as has turned out to be the case).
well now here's the scoop.you know me. im a facepuncher. i log on-line to facepunch every day. im well read on sh and politics. im your average nonpartisan liberal who advocates for free speech, so you can understand why it's hard for me to sympathize with this tuber who is being f*cked by the courts because he made a funny, epic, sjw-pwning youtube video.. i mean it sucks and all..but i just feel absolutely nothing for this guy who is being persecuted and abused for telling jokes. that's how you know i give a shit about free speach. just wanted to give my two cents on this issue. PEACE.
I still think the case was farcical, but at the same time, this retard really didn't do himself any favours.
It would be like making an off colour joke about confessing to a mass murder with the help of your dog- getting into a ridiculous court case about it- and then making a very public point of standing with a group of genuine serial killers and mass shooters.
"Obviously I wasn't actually behind the recent spree killings (with the help of my cute dog lol), but don't just take my word for it!, have a listen to what my good friend Charles Manson has to say about this whole mess!!"
That's like saying someone who makes dead baby jokes really hates babies. I don't agree with the man's sense of humor, but making racist jokes, doesn't always mean you are a racist.
This law sets the precedent that you can be arrested for making racist jokes, possibly regardless of context or intent.
And even if he is racist, which he may very well be, should people who hold racist views be punished by the law? honest question.
Thousands of people were tried under this law before him, many likely getting harsher sentences. He is just the biggest name.
Why are we giving this """ironic""" neo-nazi views again?
when you limit it to dead baby jokes that's one thing, but once you get your dead baby advocate membership card and hang around with dead baby fans while talking about how great a world of dead babies are some people might think that you really hate babies. weird how that works lol
Pretty much.
You can't really expect to pull the ~ just ironic memeing!~ card after joining the ranks of the far right lol.
Though when the law charges you for making dead baby jokes and the only group that defends you is the dead baby fanclub...
Just saying, this entire thing's been a high profile look at the process of radicalization. He seemed to be on the right politically before all this started, but the only mainstream support he got was from far right parties. It's not really surprising to see him slide into the deep end when they're the only ones defending him.
Except I'm pretty sure he was prosecuted solely for the jokes. Not his fault people can't examine things objectively.
