Buying that autobiography the day it comes out.
James is one of my biggest influences; I used to watch Monster Madness every day before 6th grade and that kickstarted my love of film history. All these years later and I've got my BA in Film Studies with plans to go for a doctorate once my Master's is done.
I got to meet him at TooManyGames a few years ago and you seriously won't find a nicer, more humble dude. Signed my VHS copy of Ninja Turtles 3 and everything. Does my heart good to see him doing so well for himself after all these years; AVGN has aged improbably well for something born of the early days of modern internet culture.
James is a total wholesome boy through and through, loved this guy since I was in elementary school!
Who would have thought the guy who made his name off of rage and anger turned out to be one of the most wholesome, chill, and feelgood Youtubers today.
Over the years there's only been a handful of internet content creators that have remained active that never had a controversy or general downturn in opinion. Ashens is the only other Youtuber I can think of off the top of my head.
Also dat tat.
Oh shit he had another kid?
Well I doubt he did, was probably his wife.
Neil Cicierega is definitely another content creator that's still going strong today, his stuff's still as great as ever.
There's a great bit in one of the old Jon-era Game Grumps episodes where they explain what makes James so endearing, where it's like "he just wants to show people his Pong Consoles because he thinks they're cool, there's no ulterior motive or anything", I think it was in Sonic 06 when they were making fun of Mike Matei
