Freddie Mercu-- I mean, uh, Marc Martel sings some Queen songs.

So yeah, we live in one of two worlds right now, either one where reincarnation is real and this guy is the living proof of it because hot damn
or we have at our hands the illegitimate child of Freddie himself. Somehow. He had a girlfriend for a while, so I mean, who knows?

This one's a bit of a different take on Don't Stop Me Now, but I quite like it. Still has that pure Freddie-sound to him though.

But this one is probably my favorite - he sings "Somebody to Love" for Céline Dion, somebody who is a fan of him and Queen, and the look she has on her face when he shows up is just priceless, it's like she's watched a resurrection take place.

He's really damn good.
As Queen covers go the Protomen do a pretty great job as well.

Looks like he's the voice being used for the upcoming biopic

But the fact remains that Singer directed the bulk of Bohemian Rhapsody, and thus a credit on that film certainly seems warranted. Early buzz on the film is quite positive, and King revealed in the same Empire issue how, exactly, they got Freddie Mercury’s vocals right for the film’s music numbers: They’re a combination of Malek, Mercury, and a Mercury soundalike named Marc Martel.
Just to think, we live in a time where we have vocalists that are pretty damn good at emulating absolute legends of classic rock.
Marc Martel doing Freddie Mercury, and Josh Kiszka from Greta Van Fleet sounding damn close to Robert Plant.
Holy damn. He's pretty damn close. If I just heard him singing without seeing the video or being told who the singer was, I would have just assumed I was listening to a recording of Mercury.
He's pretty good, but you can tell when he hits those high notes I feel.
I think it was him who said that if you want to parody/sing like Freddy then you absolutelly should not do it because there is a very high chance to kill your voice if you sing like Freddy.
He's incredibly fucking impressive. The "Don't Stop Me Now" cover gave me chills. Naturally I had to look and see if he did Bohemian Rhapsody, which there were a couple uploads of him doing so, but this one he did with a church band back in 2008 was easily the best imo, and they did an amazing performance.

If you listen to his own music, he genuinely sounds a lot like Freddie Mercury, just naturally. Thank you for posting this, what a talented vocalist and instrumentalist.
I thought it was popular knowledge? He went viral with this:

Not even one fucking second and I'm already convinced. Dude has perfect range to emulate Freddie, or as Cyodog said, Mr. Fahrenheit has found a way to communicate to us and the afterlife exists.
I prefer the protomen's covers to be honest. martel nails the quieter, more breathy parts, but the protomen vocalist has a lot more power and nails the higher and move aggressive parts.
The afterlife gods were so impressed by Freddie's singing that they let him use a phonebooth.
I was literally thinking the other day that they should use him for the vocal parts. It makes sense that they got him though, seeing how he already has contacts with Queen via the official cover-band "Queen Extravaganza", in which Marc Martel (obviously) provides the vocals.
My favourite cover of Queen is from The Swingle Singers, but I'm sucker for choral stuff:

i think the protomen vocalists voice sounds a hell of a lot more natural than martels, who feels like he's been honing his imitation for years
Their covers are excellent, but in terms of comparing the closest imitation to Freddie as possible they're way off the mark. The vocalist is just tad too aggressive and uses too much vibrato to comment for the areas his pitch falls flat.
Woah. I've never heard acapella Queen before. It's good, but weird as hell.
