Finally after 6 years since the kickstarter ended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z4G47P5vd8
oh neat, this was literally the only thing I ever backed on KS
Holy shit the glitch portal effect at 1:02 is neat
Game was fun while it was in beta and getting features added to it Though I haven't played it in 2 years, it seemed pretty much feature complete back then except for stable multiplayer.
Oh cool, someone already has a thread up. I only found out about the v1.0 announcement a few days ago. The devs have been plugging away at it for the past few years, so here's a quick timeline of all the major beta updates leading up to the final release. 2014-08-21: Beta Gameplay Trailer - Private beta launches, public beta announced. 2014-11-25: Early Access Trailer - Public beta launches on Steam Early Access, with online multiplayer, split-screen, and a handful of side modes: Sprint, Challenge, Reverse Tag, and Stunt. Also has a track editor and the first few pieces of Adventure Mode. 2015-06-11: The Trackmogrify Update - A simple random track generator that you can control with keywords like "lasers" or "loop". Also features custom MP3 support (with auto-synced track visuals), more track editor objects, and free-camera spectate. 2015-10-02: The Revamped Reality Update - Oculus Rift integration, engine fully upgraded to Unity 5 for better performance and loading, revamped menus, in-car cockpit view (usable both in VR and out), even more track editor stuff. 2016-05-09: The Creativity Update - A boatload of new track editor tools, three new official tracks, new "grip" ability for your car, improved camera, and VR support upgraded to Oculus Rift CV1. 2016-12-16: The Ghost Update - Downloadable leaderboard ghosts, replay viewer, VR upgrades including Vive support, online players increased to twelve, new medals/stats system, and customizable menu. Also has a teaser for the full Adventure Mode. 2017-06-28 - The Radical Update - Revamped Stunt Mode (with new Neon Park level), the announcer from Nitronic Rush returns, two new Challenge Mode levels, new Steam achievements, new track editor tools such as animations. And now we have the full Adventure Mode coming up.
I enjoy playing this as an on-again off-again thing when a mate comes over. It's a really cool looking game with surprisingly solid mechanics. The fact that it's still receiving support despite being relatively unpopular is really nice. Each update has added something genuinely new or cool to the game. 1.0 should be pretty dope.
