So as per usual the far right conspiracy theories are projections.
The overblown sensationalism of stories of campus censorship is something I've been arguing on FP for years now. Certain posters have been running with the narrative that American colleges and universities are far-leftist edifices where conservative deplatforming is the norm. The only reason we hear about it so much is because we have people who go out of their way to report when it happens to conservatives but ultimately it's a completely negligable figure when placed against the amount of people attending or teaching in colleges and universities.
I do like the tweet noting that the lying fake news progressive New York Times covered conservatives being deplatformed at a 7:1 ratio over liberals being deplatformed. Definitely looking forward to Steven Crowder, Ben Shapiro, and Youtube super stars like Sargon and Dave Rubin to cover this.
the only monkey wrench in this tho is that he isn't accounting for ratios of faculty members being left or right

So raw numbers might not be a full picture
Why should it matter whether the staff have left- or right-leaning views? The argument that gets made is that people with conservative viewpoints are getting disproportionally deplatformed and/or censored, not that universities should have to represent all political views as equal regardless of their validity.
The wellspring of academic institutions should be centred upon what is most academically sound, not catering to some politically correct notion of balance in order to not offend right-wing people.
