A fellow I am Steam friends with intends to stop using Steam, and cut themselves off from the world when they finish high school in a year because they hate people. They want to die

More than suicide, the person just really likes nature and wants to live and die in the wilderness as they don't like people or society. As well as being severely shy
That is very romantic. I mean if they have land they can build on, they should go for it and make some primitive technology sort of construction.
Sounds like they want to go on some spiritual journey. Hope they study up before they just walk into the woods and get hungry.
