I thought capsciacin released endorphins? I guess the spicyness factor overwhelms the analgesic effects of the endorphins over a certain threshold? Apparently spicyness works by making our body more sensitive to heat, the opposite of menthol.

I love a good spicy madras, but have never tried a vindaloo and don't want to, mostly for fear of destroying my toilet.
