The order, which also allows Virginia National Guard to assist in security efforts, was announced Wednesday afternoon as Charlottesville officials held a news conference on the city’s efforts to prepare for the anniversary of the Aug. 12 rally. The state of emergency comes as a number of groups and counterprotesters have rallies planned this weekend to mark the anniversary in Virginia and downtown D.C. The Charlottesville police didn't handle it well last year. They mostly stood by as Nazis and counter protestors beat the shit out of each other. This year I hope if some shit happens they break out the teargas. I don't think the Nazis are planning on hitting Cville though, I think they want to concentrate on DC. I think they're going to face a LOT more opposition in DC than they did in Cville, so I hope it ends up like that boston confederate flag rally where the protestors left after like 10 minutes when the counterprotestors outnumbered them like 10-1
