• PUBG 6-kill Chicken Dinner, Sanhok

Trying to learn some Adobe Premier for fun, threw together a montage of a chicky din. This is from the day Sanhok was released, clips have been sitting for a while. If you've been making entertaining vidya clips for a while and you have hot tips, please reach out! I'd like to do around one video per month and could use some editing/pacing advice. Thank you! https://youtu.be/snbhIqhZbhM
Probably best to understand this forum before posting stuff like this, self advertising is frowned up, largely gaming self advertising. And PUBG is bad.
I agree that PUBG is bad, but I enjoy it regardless. Users would post their own gaming clips here back when I was more active (I'm an 06er.) That's how I discovered anothermartz and a few of my other favorite Youtubers. Has this changed?
That makes literally no sense. I mean, the filmography of Neil Breen could fit that description, but the context of your OP indicates you don't mean it's enjoyable because it's bad.
Nope, I'm saying I enjoy playing PUBG with my mates despite the flawed netcode/hit detection. Makes sense to me.
I think you mean that you like it and think it's good but it has some problems, not that it's bad. That was my point.
That's definitely a better way of saying it!
Those are the old, reasonable rules, now we allow people to continue posting absolute fucking trash because we're a "no rules, inclusive forum". Self advertising wasn't frowned upon if the content was good either, unfortunately I'm not watching this guy's let's play of PUBG to find out if I'd consider this good or bad.
Self promoting is still kinda meh if you're doing it just to get give your own content exposure. But there's plenty of positive reasons, like a discussion around a topic
I definitely don't remember it being frowned upon 11 years ago, but things certainly do change I suppose. I quite like when people post their own content. Discovered some of my faves that way. Anybody remember this bit of self-promotion? https://youtu.be/VaHS-y_mapQ
People love to pull out the whole "Self promotion is frowned upon" excuse whenever it's a video they dislike, there have been countless videos people have self promoted that people have loved. I agree with the rest of the posts though, nobody here really cares about PubG and videos that are purely gameplay. It's good you've tried to spice it up with some editing but i'd say take it a little further, people will respond better to the editing over gameplay. That is on Facepunch, I'm sure if you post this anywhere else you'll get some good comments, you know how we are on this forum!
Honestly, I don't really see the issue with a small bit of self-promotion. Just keep it in line, don't spam it and I'm fine with it. Gotta get your stuff out somehow.
If you think its bad why would you think we would want to see it? The days when people would post their god awful gmod ranndumb videos and CS:S frag videos are long dead, thank god. Can you present an example of someone self promoting in the video forum who doesn't get completely shit on? The only guy who I can think of was that Autistic kid a while back who everyone just babied. Everyone else gets shit on because nobody wants to see a pubg or fortnite win.
There's a difference between a known user who has contributed to the site posting his own video and someone who registered today exclusively to post a shitty kill montage.
There's that one guy who does game related videos, PGunnii. His videos were pretty well received.
Some of my stop motion animations I threw all my work up and everyone thought it was fine, and there have been more instances of it happening that i'm not about to scour through the video subforum to find. Again, people only say "Don't self promote" it when it's something they don't like or something that doesn't fit in with the unwritten 'cool rules' of the forum
You have been here for eight years. People don't mind you posting your stuff. It's when someone registers just to self promote that garners negativity. And rightfully so.
I registered this account today, but I was a gold member/06er who just migrated his old account and haven't been active in a few years. Does that make my video less shitty?
OK, so you stopped using the forums and then recreated your account for the sole purpose of advertising for yourself. That doesn't affect how I perceive what you're doing at all.
Not the sole purpose of advertising myself, but if that's how you need to perceive it in order to feel outraged then by all means. See you in my next thread.
LMAO why are you guys acting dumb about the whole "don't self-promote" rule? It's obviously so that people don't just use FP as a dumping ground for their content when they have no interest in actually contributing in any other aspect of the forum. Heck, Reddit of all places has that rule in most subreddits. There's exceptions, big woop. Context matters. Let's say the OP was a well-made and funny gmod video instead, of course it would be better received because it's much more relevant to our community. Self-promotion by people that are very active elsewhere in the forum is usually fine because then you know it's content they'd like to show their community and not just a cheap ways to get views (usually).
It's demonetized due to Freddie Mercury's sweet chamomile tones. The views would do nothing for me, especially for a channel this small/inactive. I understand where everyone's coming from and will shy away from posting my own content in this forum after seeing so much backlash, but as someone who has been primarily lurking for 12 years, I suppose I didn't realize I needed to show my badge at the door.
I'm on mobile so I can't check the video rn but "pubg montage" sets off all kinds of red flags for me. Bad content is gonna get dumbed even if it's made by long-standing members, FP is just much more merciless about post-n-scoot from newcomers.
You wouldn't have noticed if he just logged back into his account from '06 and had the original join date unless you actually started going into his post history to check if he's been active recently in which case I don't think it matters at that point and you care a little bit too much about one guy's thread among the thousands in this forum
When I'm quoted I get called back to the thread, he asked me a question so I answered it. How does that mean I care too much???
??? my point was if he had his original join date of '06 on his account you wouldn't have thought this guy had just joined to advertise his own video, but purely because he doesn't have the '06 join date suddenly the entire situation is different, regardless of whether he has been active the entire time
Probably, don't care that much about it though. I was asked for an elaboration of my opinion so I gave it.
I actually don't understand how this is supposed to be a reply to what I just said, but okay.
I probably wouldn't notice under normal circumstances but this time I happened to so there it is, I voiced my opinion on joining a forum just to advertise on it. I don't care that much stop quoting me thanks
So you admit that the '18 joindate vs. the '06 joindate changed your perception of the situation despite not actually changing the actual facts of the situation at all
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
