First saw these in Bordeaux..
Should be easy for Parisians to get used to then
I don't get why public toilets aren't a thing in Europe...
I mean how many do you need for it to qualify as "a thing". You can also just go into a café or whatever. Not saying more wouldn't be nice, but I honestly haven't had an issue with the amount I've encountered.
Because nearly everything is accessible on foot or public transit. Plus it is a good service to provide for your citizens.
They don't rely on retailers or businesses to provide restrooms. If they did it would inconvenience businesses.
They are..
Over here they are.
I mean...
It's slightly better than people pissing on walls?...
But in all seriousness, there are free toilets already, but idk why nobody uses them, especially since it get automatically cleaned up after use.
Why are parisians not using regular toilets?
Depends on where you are at in a city, it can be hard to find public restrooms.
And to think, my friend got arrested for public urination here in the states for doing the same thing!...
Pissing in a garbage can in an alley, that is.
Didn't the Netherlands also had these funny walled urinals in clusters of four with like marked spots for your feet etc.?
That's true, but those are generally only used during events like festivals and such.
There are public toilets in Paris. I dont get the point of theses. Probably another whacky idea from the mayor to piss people off. No pun intended.
Apparently we have these in London yet I've never seen one. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable using one.
san francisco could use a couple of these. or a thousand. whole city smells like pee.
So like, is there a sink nearby or are you just supposed to not think about that part?
Sweden's actual public toilets charge extortionist prices, though (or well, at least some of them do). Only place I've seen $3.5 to take a piss.
That varies on the location, some restaurants will ask for a fee and some won't. Some have a customer-only policy but generally if you're not an asshole or some washed up addict the staff will usually unlock the door for you.
If you need to pay for it you can generallt use 1 Krona, 5 Kronor and 10 Kronor coins.
when I was in paris I saw one public restroom, however it was disgusting and filled with feces and a homeless woman who came out of one screamed at me after i tried to enter it
Aye. The 'plaskruis' or pee-cross.

Usually placed in the city center in the weekend by a mobile crane or during events. Also plenty of permanent ones iirc.
