You do realise the Nazis only said they were socialist so they could attract socialists?
Nazis did have socialists among their ranks in the early years but by the time Hitler became the face of the party they had all been purged. He was widely opposed to even having the word socialism in the name of the party at first and began to turn coat when he could not convince everyone else.
Nazi Germany wasn't even Social Democratic, let alone Socialist. Nazi Germany privatized businesses en masse and hated social welfare. I don't care what argument this video is trying to make - their proposition is factually wrong, so I'm not going to give it my time.
Has anyone actually watched the video or..? This guy has mostly specialized in posting about stuff regarding the rationing situation within Nazi Germany and the like, and he actually has backed up everything he has talked about with sources.
The Nazi party exerted exactly as much control as Hitler wanted over economics. It was not seriously committed to anti-capitalist socialism in any way, as should be obvious from the fact that people who criticized the party's lack of commitment to its promise of socialism (particularly Strasser and the Strasserists) got a surprise tea party thrown in their honor. Unsurprisingly, no mention of this in the video as far as I saw.
I don't see how someone could back up the claim that "national socialism was socialism" as such proof does not exist, because it wasn't.
When half his sources are Jordan Peterson and conservative-leaning think tanks, it's not really backing up an argument, just showing they have no idea what they're talking about.
You're only posting this because it feeds into your political camp's anti-welfare ideology. If you lived in Britain you'd be posting some obscure video-argument about brexit.
"the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a democracy. look it says so right there in the name!!"
I'm posting this because I find this, and several other of his videos interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=occOOTk6OKY
No TIK, NOOOOOO, wtf happened. Holding the fucking mein kampf as the source, damn it. I'm almost forced to unsubscribe. And in the comments, he only likes the comments that go "finally someone speaks the truth" and doesn't even respond to ones that go four paragraphs explaining how he's wrong.
So the title and his list of sources are misleading and he's actually going to use proper sources in the video?
I'd advise to watch it too. It's hilarious. He's great when it comes to historical battles and stuff like that, but man is his politics very bad. He think socialism = free market + private property + gubmint intervention.
"What is National Socialism? National. Socialism. National. Communism." The first six seconds. Then a few seconds later he goes on to say that Hitler's goal was socialism, and then he says Hitler was moving towards communism to which he says we should "let that sink in". I'm not sure if it should sink anywhere other than the toilet by the sounds of it
Oh fuck, he's caught it. He's caught the tudd virus.
I came in this thread just to post something like this, god damn it. Just cause it was in the name, doesn't mean its fuck that, yeah, ofc people are going to fall for it in the name. Its like the people who came themselves Democrat Socialist, in reality, they are Social Democrats, yeah, its a small diffrence compared to Socialism and Nazism, but still.
It's a real shame TIK is going down a path of non-research and general bullshit when his videos on certain battles were relatively well researched and he was willing to remove and redo any video in which an inaccuracy was found. The fact that he isn't even responding to critique and instead is just pinning comments agreeing with him is uncharacteristic, too. His insinuation that Fascism and Nazism despite the latter springing from and funding the former, holding the same economic and political policies and the same philosophy (with Nazism adding racial purity and anti-semitism among other things) are somehow separate, reeks of bullshit, too.
Or the best example of this, the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea" where basically everything except for "of Korea" is a lie and even that is only a half-truth
You mean these? https://i.imgur.com/CVLiOad.png These aren't sources...
https://i.imgur.com/khRf6jv.png fucking what
I mean, they're sources. They're not authoritative or worth anything, but they're sources of other people beaking off about shit they pretend to understand on YouTube. That's a source the way Wikipedia saying someone said something is a source.
I think someone should do a study and check the correlation between using National Socialism (instead of Nazi(sm)) and being clueless as to what you're talking about
And this is why we don't let conspiracy theories get actual protections under the first amendment. This National Socialism means Nazies were Socialist started out as a conspiracy theory and now its leaking into the mainstream.
Hitler was also vehemently against anything left-wing or progressive. To call National Socialism the same as Socialism is dangerous and putting Nazis down a peg as somehow more reasonable, which they are not. It's a classic example with extremists to make themselves not look insane and more level headed to attract more members. Absolutely in no circumstances should anyone think a Nazi is gonna reason with you. Look what happened with Chamberlain when he tried to appease the Nazis; they just backstabbed him right on the spot.
you don't have to act like you have any understanding of history or political systems when you can just bullshit the millions of idiots who actually don't
also, "rethinking ww2 history", Fuck off with that revisionist bullshit.

This argument should be bannable. "Oh I just find it interesting, that's why I post demonstrably wrong garbage. It really makes you think, doesn't it?". It happens so fucking often these days.
He's not entirely wrong in saying Hitler was moving towards Communism. I mean, he did declare war on the Commies and push his armies out east, so I'd say that's moving towards Communism in a manner of speaking.
