Is there any reason why the devs aren't prioritizing optimization?

This game runs like shit.
I have read countless threads complaining about it.
I look through the "Roadmap" and they have all these cool features planned, but who really cares if the game runs like total crap...
I have an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 w/ a GTX 970 and 16 GB ram...
Nothing amazing, I know, but I can run PUBG and SIEGE on Medium-High with 80-100 frames, no stuttering, frame drops, anything like that. Smooth...
Whenever I play this, I HAVE to bring EVERY setting to ultra low and I MEAN EVERYTHING...
I get between 45-80 frames, inconsistent... That I can live with, but the fact that there are serious stutters, and 1-2 second game freezes is completely unacceptable. It RUINS this game.
*** PLEASE DEVS, FOCUS ON OPTIMIZATION AND PERFORMANCE OVER ANYTHING ELSE ***
*** FEATURES DON'T MEAN SHIT IF THE GAME RUNS WORSE TODAY THAN IT EVER DID ***
They are gonna focus on optimization for the next update, and probably subsequent patches as well.
Oh really? Can you give me a link to that where I can read it? I have about 900 hours into this game, and love it... The performance is the only thing really holding me back from dedicating more time :-\
same here, can't play with 1-2 second game freezes
They have their heads in the "we are going to be the next CSGO game with nukes and alien spacecraft cloud"
If they just stopped adding crap and just fix the basics they would have a winner. But no, they just want to have everything and not a survival game.
When they flop and are out of a job, then they might just realize they had a winner but flushed it down the toilet!!!!!!
Really dood. This game has been around for four years and really do not see any decline.
This game is still in Beta and things are working as intended and after every large update there will ALWAYS be optimization issues.
If you don't like then maybe you should leave for awhile and come back when it is fully optimized

it's a lesson that we should pay performance some more attention than we've been doing over the recent months. It's one of the main things I'll be doing this month.
Seems like your new to Rust? Cause we been hearing that shit for years "Oh in this update we worked on optimization" Load the game nothing has changed still the same shit FPS and Freezes lol
Yes, I'm new to Rust, I've only been playing since 2015.
I guess you'd rather not hear them talking about working on optimizing the game. I guess they might as well just give up on that entirely since you think it's useless.
