I want to shirk off my worldly responsibilities and play rust but alas, i cannot. Every time I try to play the game crashes. Sometimes I can play for like 20-30 minutes but then crash. Sometimes it happens randomly and sometimes it happens when night switches to day. I'm using a mac. What can I do to make this game playable???

Not u are the only one with this issue.
First of all type your problem into this forum place:
mac crash problem since the puzzle update
After follow the steps:
Step 1) On your Mac, go to Finder, Library, Log, Diagnostic Reports. There you can locate your crash reports. (rust_2018.crash)
Along with those reports please also send your player log.
Step 2) open finder -> menu bar "go" -> press "go to folder" -> paste "~/Library/Logs/Unity/" -> copy file "Player.log"
Step 3) Jot down the current specs of your mac. Operating system, Graphics Card, Memory, and such. (Information can be found in the "About this mac option on your desktop menu when clicking the apple logo top left)
Please Submit a request – Facepunch Studios (Attention Errn) and give them the tools to fix this issue.
The problem is not fixed yet but Facepunch working on it. They need the feedbacks like yours to fix the problem
