And with that, I guess the IP isn't dead.
Well, assuming they do something with it.
God, leave it to THQ to essentially come back from the dead. First buying off Koch Media (Deep Silver), and then buying up even more neglected IPs. I know THQ Nordic isn't the exact same as the THQ of old, but goddamn.
Free from Crytek's horribly mismanaged clutches. I wonder what this means for Timesplitters Rewind.
This news made have to take a second split myself, although I just hope they don't shut down Timesplitters Rewind.
This worries me because if you think about it Timesplitters would be so easy to turn into some f2p lootbox based multiplayer only shit.
I'd love a new Timesplitters, but at this point is there even anyone left from Free Radical Design?
From what I can gather, yes. Those who remained after the studio essentially folded were essentially what became Dambuster Studios, and they were acquired by Deep Silver, becoming Deep Silver Dambuster.
And now, THQ Nordic owns Deep Silver (who owns Dambuster) and the Timesplitters IP.
I really hope for a new Timesplitters game, on PC as well please.
My all time favorite game on GameCube.

It didn't have a (released) sequel after Future Perfect come the XB360-PS3-Wii generation because after the collosal piece of shit that was Haze, Free Radical just kinda… fell apart. A Timesplitters 4 was planned and you can still see concept arts of it online but well...
Haze was so shitty that it tanked Free Radical, causing them to be bought by Crytek and renamed to Crytek UK. The story gets sadder, as just before this they were working on Star Wars Battlefront 3 which seemed like it was about 95% completed before it was canned.
Still, assuming THQ doesn't just want to sit on the franchise (stupid decision buying it then, I mean what, did you expect EA to publish a TS game? That's rich) then it looks like this story might just have a happy ending after all.

they had better fucking do something with the ip
This is actually a really good thing. From one of their documents released a while back, THQ-Nordic have a positive approach to their IPs where they will gladly put money into their franchiches as long as it'll make profit, even if it's not massive sums of money like normal publishers go after. Re-releasing or remastering a series like this (at the least) is something that seems highly likely. Buying IPs and putting a bit of money into using them to keep a stready stream of income is what they do,.
Dambuster has practically no one left from the Free Radical days, I think some of them left to form their own company but I don't think they've done anything good.
As long as it's not p2w I'd be up for it. Monetize those hundreds of skins, just let me practice open head surgery.
I never played Timesplitters as a kid, emulated TS2 a couple of months ago to play co-op. Holy shit, every level is its own unique fully realised world and there's a fair amount of gameplay variety between them too, it's amazing
Apart from the shoddy Titan Quest Switch port THQ Nordic has been on a roll. A few days ago I noticed that they had even fixed Desperados so it works on modern machines which is pretty amazing since it was impossible to run for a lot of people.
You forgot about the shoddy Darksiders re-releases
The PC version of Darksiders 2 stutters like a motherfucker unless you install a beta patch, and the PS4 version shuts off the console completely and suddenly partway into the tutorial
I'm slightly worried that all of the characters are going to be locked behind lootboxes.
If they port over TS2 and Future Perfect over proper to the PC version, then that would be great. The only reason i wanted to touch Homefront The Revolution was so i could play that emulated version of TS2 with mouse support. Which you has to fo through the entire game almost to get the pleasure ofbdoibg so.
The foundation is already there. Just get those guys who worked on that, give them a team and they will know what to do.
I'd kill for a PC port of Second Sight, loved that game back when I still had an Xbox.
come on remaster.
Please tell the this means a re-release at the very least.
There was one, you used to be able to get it on Steam years ago too.
Thank fuck, we might actually get a new TimeSplitters game.
I doubt they would spend the money just to do nothing with it

Holy fuckkk. Please, give us a trilogy re-pack to PC.
For those not in the know about the whole Timesplitters Rewind shebang.

Long video, but it covers everything.
why is there a girl who willingly wears a shirt with "slut" written on it and why that it so hot
Would be fucking great if they did that, but it would also mean I would have essentially wasted my money on the Gamecube version of the Timesplitters 2 from Amazon :V
So whats going to happen to Time Splitter Rewind (I believe that what it was called)? Is the game that some people in Facepunch were doing, if it didn't already hit the bucket.
