Jeremy Hunt has called on the EU to change its approach on Brexit, and said the risk of failing to reach a deal has risen in recent weeks.
The British foreign secretary was speaking at the start of three-day tour of continental Europe aimed at persuading member states to back Theresa May’s Brexit plan.
He added: “We do need to see a change in approach by the European commission.”
So far the government’s attempt to go over the head of Barnier, whose mandate has been agreed by the EU’s 27 leaders, has not yielded visible results.
Is this guy serious?
Ugh your point of contact is Barnier, stop trying to guilt trip the EU. If you want to negotiate, talk to him.
I genuinely burst out laughing why I saw that thread title.
"We drilled a hole in our ship and we're sinking. What's your plan to fix it?"
Not the first time J Hunt has tried to premptively shift blame for no brexit from our inept team to the EU
There was a man whose name was derogatory
He was trying to destroy the economy
His name was Hunt
He was a giant cunt
And now he's just into sodomy
There was a man who wrote the book "direct demoracy"
He wants to spend taxes on homeopathy
With a head full of air
and sells our healthcare
And now he's secretary of state - wait what? Wtf is wrong with us
the arrogance of the british negotiators has been absolutely astounding. they might as well resurrect oswald mosley and make him negotiate brexit at this point
You got Nigel "Il Duce" Farage so save yourself a resurrection stone
this man should hang for what he's done to our NHS
To be honest most of these twats would like nothing more than a no deal brexit, they know that most Tory/UKIP voters are more than willing to buy the argument that any negatives from brexit are the fault of the EU and nothing to do with the fact we have no negotiating position.
All they need to do is create the narrative that anything bad from brexit is due to the EU being evil and nothing to do with the incompetence of the government.
I mean he potentially has a point in that the UK government clearly has no clue so any potential ideas/progress may need to come from the EU.
But that doesn't mean the EU has any reason to concede rather than watch us squabble as we fall over the cliff.
I feel like if people were dissatisfied with how the EU is, voting to leave then complaining about how it needs to change surely the wrong way round? If people feel the EU needs to change then the best way to intact that change is as a member of the EU. We're likely going to trade with them whether we're with them or not, considering that literally all our neighboring countries and allies are part if the EU.
It's almost like electing governments composed primarily of out of touch upper class private schooled muppets is a terrible idea.
These guys spend their entire lives being taught that they are better than everyone else, and then everyone is shocked when they approach every situation with thoughts only for their own gain and tactics that amount to utterly arrogant demanding.
There once was a man named hunt
Who's wit was terribly blunt
The piss he would take
To eat and have his cake
We all know he is a right wally brain.
"We don't need the EU, but we do need the EU to bail us out from the consequences of leaving the EU."
Jeremy Hunt the absolute Cunt.
Can't handle the flame so shifts the blame.
And just cares about his fucking wallet.
Jeremy Hunt would run face-first into a wall and then complain the wall hurt too much.
