As it is easy to guess from the title, I'm looking for the vehicles models from Mafia 3. Has someone extracted them? Thanks anyway.
my old tool was able to extract vehicle models http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=15543
Oh, the great Daemon! And unfortunately, I always forget to check XeNTaX, damn it! In any case, I have a small problem: I do not own the game. For that I asked here in the forum. I have Mafia II, and I personally extracted the models I was interested for, buildings, vehicles and so on, but Mafia III, in my opinion, is a game that did not deserve to be played, for that I gave up buying it. So, I will wait a little longer and see if anyone is willing to help me. In any case, as I have said a few times, I am a traditional artist and I only look for models without textures. I use them only as a visual reference and to help me with perspective, and in the next days I will have to draw several scenes set at the end of the '60s, and I thought that the models of Mafia III could help me. PS: your tool needs the complete game to extract the models or need just the archives\folders that containing the models? Because in this case, maybe someone could give me them...
current tool works on any small file you don't need complete game
@id-daemon , ok, I got the game, I've extracted cars and textures but there's a problem at the most beautiful moment: your tool crashes. Why? I'm thinking that maybe it's my problem, but I have two PCs, a traditional one and a laptop, both with Windows 7, and the problem is the same on both machines. Can you tell me why?  Anyway, @SgtJoe , are you interested to this, right? So maybe you can download the Daemon's tool and try to convert the models, maybe you do not get the error that prevents me from completing the extraction. Here are the archives, the first with weapons and vehicles, the second with textures. Models - Textures Hope this can be useful to everyone interested.
it works fine, i just tested it on the files you provided just dont run it with audio banks, those will surely crash how do you run the tool? you're supposed to drag files onto it
I keep two windows side by side, in one the extracted files, in the other your instrument. Select the .dat file and drag it to the program and I wait for the extraction. For example, in the weapons folder, it extracts only the bullet, but the largest file, which I think contains the complete model, creates an error and the tool crashes, although it generates an .ascii and .smd files, but of 0 k of size. However, the instrument worked perfectly with the world models. The tool extracted them all, but they are of very low quality and missing some parts, like the barrel and so on. I also tried with the vehicles, and only a few are converted, and most of the time it happens like weapons, generate an error and an .ascii and .smd files of 0 k size, then crashes. Also, the wheels of all cars are missing, but I think they are in the files that get the error.
tell me vehicle name that is NOT converted
All or just an example? In case, take a look here: bc_boat_fishing https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/148845/27c93b8e-0eb3-4cce-b809-ea468708a230/image.png None of the three file.dat generates a model, and all three give the error, but if you give me time to have dinner, then I'll check all the vehicles one by one and let you know. Furthermore, I believe that vehicles are few. This page, vehicles in Mafia III, it indicates about 76, and as you can see, the extracted folders are 42. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/148845/3b2444e4-8a05-4e64-96ef-2648f7b9813f/image.png
no, its a little different. i can't say why there's only 42 folders, and not 76, because these files were not created with my tool But i can tell you: in each car folder 3 files are: car body, audio bank, and shaders bank cars_universal contains wheels, exhausts and other universal parts, my tool also extracts them all the boats are probably incompatible with my tool, but i dont have time to fix it. hope you dont need them too much
Hey, thank you very much for support. Anyway, I thought maybe the errors may be due to the version of the game. I mean, do you think it is likely that another Mafia III may be free of these errors?
no i don't think so
