I desperately need more RAM (still barely getting by with 8GB), so I figured I might as well upgrade my main board and CPU while I'm at it, too. I haven't kept up with new hardware the past few years, so I'm not sure what I should be looking for.
Here's my current setup:
CPU: Intel i5 750 (Quad-core, 2.7GHz)
Mainboard: Asus P7P55D LE
RAM: 1x 4GB Corsair DDR3, 2x 2GB Nanya DDR3
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 200
Power Supply: SeaSonic SSR-650RT 650W
OS: Windows 10 x64
I mostly use this PC for gaming and software development (Visual Studio/Unreal Engine), but I won't need more than 16GB RAM.
What's my best option with a budget of about 350$? Is that enough, or should I expect to have to pay more than that?
I don't have a preference for AMD or Intel, either one is fine.
