https://m.metrotimes.com/news-hits/archives/2018/08/16/detroit-rep-bettie-cook-scott-on-asian-opponent-dont-vote-for-the-ching-chong Fun fact: Rep. Stephanie Chang's husband is black, and when he confronted Mrs. Cook Scott about her racist comments she basically called him a race traitor calling him a 'fool' for marrying her.
Chang and Scott were running in the Democratic primary for state Sen. District 1. Chang won the election with 49 percent of the vote; Scott came in third with 11 percent of the vote. What a sore loser.
Shes not winning any votes doing this bullshit either.
Scott was endorsed by mayor of Detroit Mike Duggan, corporations and Republicans are backing his endorsements in the Michigan Dem primaries since Duggan is pissed Democrats voted against a car insurance bill he made with the GOP state speaker.
Well, here's hoping the degenerate loses the primary. Disappointed to see this sort of scum among the Democrats, too.
American politics get significantly crazier and more American at the state and local level.
Racial tensions in Detroit must be particularly toxic, if this is what it produced.
A complete newcomer to politics who raised no money won a primary against a powerful incumbent there. She's black and won in the urban areas where it's 3/4 black, he won in the suburbs where it's 90% white. Note she campaigned so little people didn't even know she was black, it's suspected people voted based on what name they had. Also TBH what I said is just a gut feeling.
I'm curious what the "racism = predudice + power" people have to say about this.

Strange tactic, she's obviously got too much melanin to win the racist demographic, why is she trying?
Because she is a racist who's also, evidently, a terrible politician.
Weird how those two things tend to go together
yes because only whites can be racist we're schrodinger's minority and people just choose whatever is convenient i've heard a bunch of those sort of people also insist asians are whiter than white or w.e so we're not a minority then they turn around and tell us to be "allies" or some shit like lmao pok gai
I get where you're coming from, but I think, a bit like how 'toxic masculinity' is totally misinterpreted, I believe that they're simply saying that racist policy can only be enacted with power. Yes, racist speech is fucking disgusting, but it doesn't compete with how certain policies aimed at people of a specific minority can destroy their livelihoods.
Madness! I think racism can happen any which way but I think punching down from a position of privilege is worse (as in higher priority) than punching up. Like a black nationalist, advocating for an ethnostate is as bad as a white nationalist advocating for an ethnostate but the white nationalist has more power in the US (and other countries where whites are a majority) because I believe a minority is easier to discriminate against. So does that make me one of those people? My thoughts about this are she's tryna appeal to the "anti pc" demographic. By using that sorta insensitive language she's signalling to her voters that it's ok, she's one of them, they should vote for her, not because of economic policy or integrity, but because she'll enable and allow their bullshit. It's just identity politics. And IMO it's damaging, this sorta thing empowers actual racists with actual bad agendas - those agendas will be turned on minorities, either overtly or covertly. Doesn't matter that she's black; infact it might help, it's like an "uncle tom" type thing, a minority who lets racists be racist.
Racist virtue signalling lol.
She already lost!
MAN WODOFOK!!! we dont even speak like that...
You can't appeal to the anti pc demographic when running as a democrat, that's campaign suicide.
Everyone is capable of racism.
Never said they weren't, just wondering if anyone on their campaign staff put even a single second of thought into this.
So she just 'apologized' for having adverse opinions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUwaj09U4qQ People are already calling for her to step down.
The endless American tradition of immigrants forming a country and then fighting over who's less of an immigrant.
How much of a fucking idiot do you have to be to think that you could say this shit? Jeez.
Looks better to vote for the ching chong than the monkey abhorrent (and stupid) enough to make such comments.
what in the name of mary mother of god possessed you to post this
I'm just saying that it's better to vote for the person she insulted than someone who behaves like a militant racist (race traitor? I read) and doesn't even bother to conceal it.
That doesn’t give you a free pass to say things like that lol
You can't be ironically racist.
