They are talking about so called "Polenböller" (polish firecrackers), they are illegal here because they are too strong and not produced safely.
As the name implies they are often just imported from Poland.

My hair looks like I'm auditioning for a role as an emo kid 12 years too late, so I don't really give a shit about my appearance - perhaps that's why I can't understand it? Pretty shitty thing to do to somebody who is just trying to get by in what can already most likely be described as a difficult, badly paid job.
Bit of a coincidence that I have seen this headline just now. There's a 15-year old co-worker at my workplace who's a bit of a dick and never smiles whatsoever, and he was complaining about his really shitty haircut a few days before this thread was published lol
It seems what you should really be concerned about is the politicians overreacting and banning something that shouldn't be banned.
