200 feral chickens run amok on estate… and postie ‘too scared’ to deliver
A PRIVATE housing estate has been overrun by 200 chickens — ‘scaring away’ the postman and leaving residents in fear of a health hazard.
The ‘feral’ flock was created after a rooster and hen were abandoned by their owners when they left the new-build estate in Diss, Norfolk, earlier this year. Now scores of chickens and six roosters roam residential roads, with dozens of new chicks each week.
Carol Morris, 71, said: ‘I love them but they are everywhere now. It’s crazy, and it’s getting too much.
