https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45216061 Jeremy Hunt has clarified his comments about a no-deal Brexit, saying Britain "would survive and prosper" - but it would be a "big mistake for Europe". On Thursday he told ITV News a "messy" no-deal Brexit "would be a mistake we would regret for generations". Well, that's a fucking u-turn and a half. Whilst he vacillates on Brexit, my main issue is how the mindset of so many politicians in this country is still that of the British Empire days. The idea that Europe will suffer whilst we prosper is so fucking absurd that it should be in Monty Python.
John Cleese for PM. He'd be more sensible and rational, too!
Nobody expects the English Restoration!
“The UK will be a major power after no-deal Brexit!!!” ”Ok, how? What’s your plan?” ”BELIEVE. IN BRITAIN!!!” please donate coins so I can buy a gun to kill myself with
John Cleese is leaving the UK. He's going to the Carribean around November.
So it makes sense now. Boilrig was Jeremy Hunt all along.
Looks like Jeremy is trying out complete reality denial after seeing Trump is still president and thinking “uh, maybe if I disbelieve hard enough, my dreams can come true, too!”
Why do we have to sit through this fucking farce I want off this ride

So the 60something million country will prosper but Europe (not even the EU) with a population of 680 million, without the UK, will suffer and the mighty Empire will block everything going to Europe leading to starve the continent.. or something? I don't get it, how does one get to the conclusion?
"Don't worry, there's no way mercedes would let us leave with no deal" - the same people, 2016 This was all so obvious from day 1 yet we just keep barreling towards it.
The last time we were beaten was 1066! We always beat europe.
You just have to be very, very fucking stupid.
Im curious about something. What does the Queen think about this? Does she have the power to step in and override decisions?
Queen can't really say anything about it - the royal family taking a stance on controversial political issues against the elected government is seen as a risky move. It might even come close to a constitutional crisis if she actually tried to do anything. There is speculation tho that she's pro EU but it's kind of a meme/joke. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/queens-speech-ascot-eu-flag-hat-a7801611.html
Apparently her even stepping into the House of Commons is forbidden, her doing anything about Brexit would cause a constitutional crisis.
Yep. Basically all the queen could do is speak her own opinion on the matter. The monarchy has no real power in the 21st century.
Jeremy Hunt is pretty clearly only saying this cus he got told off for dropping a truth bomb earlier when he said no deal would be a shitshow
Oh no I dropped the truth and now all the voters hate me, quick say something delusional for them to think its all good. Fucking spineless cunt.

Does this man even speak English? Because those statements only work if you completely reverse the definitions of both prosperity and disaster.
Except for every other war they waged. The French won the hundred years war. They were also invaded by force by the Dutch during the Anglo-Dutch war, and they replaced the English king with William III of Orange. When was the last time England/UK beat Europe?
ww2. we fought europe on the beaches, we fought europe in the trenches and we drove europeans out of europe!
But that wasn't the UK. It was an alliance of armies, including the UK's.
Whoever went and added the [sic] into the title is a true hero.
you're being taken on a ruse cruise my friend @Fulcrum is parodying your typical Daily Mail reading slob, who parrots things such as that. A particular favourite of mine is "We did FINE before the EU, we'll been fine out of it!" I mean everyone knows that the years between the end of WW2 and us joining the EU were our GOLDEN YEARS where we dissolved our Empire and rapidly plummeted from greater power status! Hang on a sec ....
I know mate. It's just that that whole idea of UK STRONK isn't really based on anything.
https://files.catbox.moe/yvr053.png Hark! Peasant! Clean my boots! It feels good to be post-brexit oligarchy. It's just nonsense patriotism much like it is for every other country that believes they are the one true strong country. Despite our relative smallness, we do still put up a fight after all. Well, we did put up a fight, then Farage managed to instigate Brexit and apparently that means we all have to roll over whilst the almost certainly Russian ploy to fracture the EU is piloted via our country.
Ye I'm just fooling around. I hope it's not realistic but there are some pretty crazy people in the UK at the moment.
