I've been very interested in this game ever since I saw the release on consoles. But now that it's been out for a few weeks I was wondering if anyone has made any headway in ripping of the models? I've not found any info on it what so ever so I thought just post here
I've been working on porting the handler. Its proving and issue because no program that I know of supports extracting the normals the game uses, and because the game doesnt have easy to read file paths. The handler is in "npc\npc002\mod" for example. And no paths say anything related to 'monsters' https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/175910/0e3499f6-0a28-4566-bac5-ad27e0a4a61a/image.png
That already is looking amazing! So at this point it's nothing more then skimming through the dredge hoping to find something?
Yep. The only reason I knew the handler was npc002 was because of all the mods on the nexus that replaces her.
What software are you using to export/wade through the files? Because I'd love to give it a shot but I have no clue on were to start

fuck his tool already supports MHW? That was fast. Then again same old .mod format so I should have expected that. Also .tex files are pretty much standard DDS file, there is a tool on MHW Nexus for converting them to .dds and then you can use the Intel DDS plugin for newer Photoshop to open them since they are DX11 formats and not supported by most older DDS tools. I'm still using CS3, I really gotta get a new version one of these days. How are the cloth physics? Do they have bones, or are they just handled in engine?
They're (assumingly) bones. The tastles on the handler are rigged, at the very least. The DDS converter on the nexus doesn't work from what I've been told, but in that thread theres a link to a noesis plugin that works perfectly, save for a few textures.
I've Been trying and no succes at all... Is there any other tool out there or a location were I can look for the armors? That's kindof all I want to get out of there the armors with their textures
