Since I'm not the best at lighting, I opted instead for a high contrast low brightness B/W filter, as some cameras of the era had.
I wasn't able to get as much rubble or Russian troops as I wanted, I started experiencing some slowdown later into the scenebuilding and posing, hence why the left hand of the German is a bit messed up and the "Red Horde" looks more like a small squad.
I just realized now that I forgot to add in DOF, so sorry about that. I know that a lack of Anti Aliasing can bug some people, myself included..
im probably not delivering big news but a high contrast B/W filter doesn't make up for lack of lighting. The scenebuild has potential and can make for a great testing ground for light practice - get rid of all other lights so it's completely dark, and then use lamps (only ones that cast shadows) to light up the scene
I was trying to look into doing that for a while, almost built this on gm_black. The only real problem is that I either can't figure it out or my computer can't handle disabling lighting. I just used the b/w filter to detract from the lack of lighting as a temporary thing.
Yeah when I took the screenshot I didn't turn anti-aliasing on, and on top of that forgot to use depth of field to blur the far away background slightly.
