To be fair the DLC is only free for 24 hours, but still. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/211198/c7a49b58-e11a-4f16-8d1a-6c45ec503bce/image.png
HA! they are doing a Switch version! And people doubted me.

From their discord, just to reiterate. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/129/f37250b6-bae2-448f-a56a-a0a42cb97098/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/129/10e44865-36dc-4ee4-bad5-c6909e42a849/image.png
Is that just for now, or are they just never going to update the other versions?
Oh... well that's a big letdown for console, especially for Switch now too.
Looks like they updated their FAQ No plans to release DLC on other platforms Switch is the final console to get the game, no plans for more ports And I'm seeing "Bow Kid" is the name of Player 2.
Man, that's a real bummer. I may as well just get the PC version then if that's the case.
so much for a small indie company
Also from their Discord: https://i.imgur.com/SgO7q4B.png So, barring any unexpected technical difficulties, the DLCs will come to the consoles eventually. They are just taking the safe approach and not confirming anything until they're absolutely sure it's going to happen.
I vaguely remember a dev stating that a Switch release was not happening a while back, but here we are. I'm just curious to see how they release the new music from the DLC. I'm guessing they may just include it with the DLC or with the Side B Soundtrack, but even if they don't I'll probably buy it anyway.
Wow, I had no idea this game was one of the greatest of all time for it's walrus character.
If I recall they're going to add it to the Side B soundtrack.
And 95 percent of resetera will still refuse to play it because Jontron hasn't been removed from the game.
Personally I think a better reason to not play it is because the head of the studio is a doxxing scam artist fraud.
Or you could just play it because it's a fun game.
Elaborate?
I think he's referring to Mecha the Slag. I think he also took a massive shit on MaxOfS2D doing that, but I've forgotten most detail about the whole debacle. You should know about Max if not the former.
Wait, what did Mecha do?
I hope you are not talking about the drama from 2012 involving Max and Mecha over TF2 mirrors edge gamemode asset drama because I don't think people care about that anymore. Heck I even went looking for the original videos from both of them and they seem to no longer exist besides others who had re uploaded the videos.
I found a Reddit post that seemed to have summed it up pretty thoroughly: Ok so Jonas Kaelev has basically no internet presence prior to AHiT, but given Maxofs2ds and the time, it probably refers to the Mecha debacle and at least some people claim that Mecha and Jonas is the same person, but with only 2 hits on his name on google, it's hard to tell if that claim has any credence. But let's assume that is the same person for a sec. That debacle basically boils down to: Max demanded that some items on TF2 SLAG servers was made exclusively his so that only he could use them. Mecha denied that request. Max then demanded all assets for SLAG made by him and his girlfriend, removed from SLAG. Mecha denied this request too, citing that you cannot revoke a donated asset once given. Max then send DMCA takedown notices to the SLAG server host for this content. Supposedly in quite a large number but the host only ever acknowledged "a request". They deferred this to be an internal dispute and thus denied to act on it themselves as both were claiming ownership of the copyright to the work at this point and thus, they would have to sort it in a court, not with them. Max then proceeded to spill his spaghetti all over, he nuked his own steam group and blamed Mecha for it. Started multiple tumblr blogs where he was accusing Mecha of being all kinds of things, including a child molester and so on. Mecha took offense of this ofc so started sending his own DMCAs on Max's videos and tumblr posts about him, which ofc resulted in more DMCAs from Max against anything Mecha said about Max... Eventually SLAG's host, as well as Max's webhost got tired of the shit flinging of using them as an intermediary so pulled the plug on both of them and seriously told the both of them to grow up, act as adults and that they were no longer associated and would refuse all further communication with the two of them. (take it from someone that handles such issues, it takes A LOT before a host loses their temper like that). Someone, then registers MaxOfS2D.com (ofc, Mecha is a prime suspect there, though Max is known to control it now so could be Max himself at the time as well in accordance with the previous steam group behavior). The site is basically just a Google Alerts result. Max says to have contacted the domain registrar without success to get the domain taken down. This is what I guess is being referred to as Mecha doxxing since the Google Alerts did contain sensitive information such as his real name, name of his parents and so on. I'm not aware of his actual adress or anything being posted among this directly at this time, but certainly enough that it would be possible to track him down using just public records if one wanted to). Max now goes out and asks everyone (including hiring "hackers") if anyone could track down Mecha's IP (ofc, so that he could match that to the IP of the host of MaxOfS2D.com). And ofc, he never got anything real from that though Max believed he did... Basically his evidence relied on geodata location for different IPs and everyone (except Max apparently) knows how completely useless that data is. But Max proclaimed he had found his evidence that it was Mecha that created the website and spread the news far and wide, thus promoting the site himself... The site owner now responds with putting up Max's full doxx, in large print, top of the page and all and ofc, Max started shouting louder and again, doing nothing but promoting the site even further, and yet again fails to get the registrar to act on the doxx. Again, supposedly they didn't even reply which I must say at this point would be very VERY odd for a registrar... TLDR version: Max and Mecha had a dispute over content. A site with doxx was made with Max claiming it's Mecha that made it, Mecha claiming Max made it, and no proof is given either way. All we know is that Max is the current owner. Personally, there's very little doubt in my mind that the site was a false flag by Max considering all the actions of Max, though my god the juvenile pettyness of both of them was astounding. I just hope that Mecha has grown up, since it seems pretty clear that Max hasn't... And that's really why no one is talking about it... Max was promoting his own doxx and it's kind of hard to sympathize with someone screaming "Guys guys, look at my personal information over here, come look at my personal information so you can be appalled by the guy standing over there that's obviously the one that wrote my personal information here. Take a good long careful look at it. So you get outraged enough to go over and break that guy's stuff."
Okay that was much more hilarious than I recalled.
There's something very gratifying about the idea of the drama over Slag that has infested and derailed nearly every Hat In Time thread like a cancer possibly actually turning out to be petty false flagging from Max acting like a colossal child. It's only a possibility, but at least it would stop people from blindly shitting on a good game made by a full team because one programmer was a dick years and years ago.
Wow, nice timing. I finished the birdcage + final chapter just last night after months of break.
i don't know about all of this drama but it seems like you may have have forgotten to separate art from the artist
I mean it's not exactly out of character
Uh oh, I'm gonna have to uninstall a bunch of mods before the DLC comes out because I have a feeling oen of them is going to make the game not run. Also wonderful art by Jenna Brown: https://twitter.com/cyanatar/status/1031624581491109888
Wow there is so much wrong here I don't even know where to start, so I guess I'll go in the same order. Jonas Kaelev has basically no internet presence prior to AHiT, but given Maxofs2ds and the time, it probably refers to the Mecha debacle and at least some people claim that Mecha and Jonas is the same person, but with only 2 hits on his name on google, it's hard to tell if that claim has any credence. This is just a weird way to start, why suggest that this isn't true when there's absolutely no evidence to support that claim? It's especially laughable given the fact that Mecha/Jonas specifically stated on his oldpunch accounts that he was transitioning away from the Mecha one to put more stuff under his legal name, and consequently changed his name to Jonas on his own forums. This was over a year before AHiT even started development. Max demanded that some items on TF2 SLAG servers was made exclusively his so that only he could use them. Mecha denied that request. Not exactly. Mecha actually agreed, then reneged on the deal after he'd gotten everything he wanted from Max. Max then demanded all assets for SLAG made by him and his girlfriend, removed from SLAG. Mecha denied this request too, citing that you cannot revoke a donated asset once given. She wasn't his girlfiend, she was a pretty respected figure in the TF2 modding community of her own right, responsible for the female scout and scout's mother models. And see my previous statements, those assets were made by Max on condition of payment, payment that Mecha refused to provide. Really no comments to make on the DMCA stuff because that is more or less correct and was a massive shitshow that basically resulted in most of Mecha and Max's online presence getting nuked as they tried to out copyright troll each other. The MaxofS2D incident was also not the only instance of Mecha offering payment for assets, refusing to make payment after the work was done, and then doxxing the asset creator in response. He also did all of that to me. Which resulted in someone attempting to break into my house where my fucking family lives. I can understand separating art from artist and appreciating AHiT for what it is because honestly it's a decent game, just keep in mind that if you pay for it you're paying money to someone who piggybacks off other people's work, refuses to give them any share of credit or revenue, and attempts to cause them physical harm. Mecha's not an artist, he's an art thief.
Could you explained what happened between you and how you know Mecha doxxed you?
