Oh man, they somehow made it look even better than the reveal trailer.
You forgot to mention the release date is in the video. 8.3.2019
Updated the OP with the official Capcom upload at 4k, 60 fps.
Oh fuck the motorcycle is an actual devilarm. Shit this is awesome.
Official DMC5 site was updated CAPCOM Dante Coming Soon Tokyo Game Show 2018
Can't believe they're actually sticking to that song
its the best
It fits right in with the skateboarding arms and Bike chainsaws.
One of those sections looked to be a huge homage to DMC1 and I'm getting giddy
The fucking death scissors made me so excited, there's hell vanguards from 3 in another trailer. I'm so happy.
maybe I just haven't noticed it in other trailers, but those I felt like those cutscenes into gameplay transition haven't been done for quite some time and it somehow really got me
The song is literally not a problem. Sounded weird at first but it's the right kind of cheese to fit the series and honestly probably reflects on Nero growing from an angsty fuck to this cool dude. Fuckin buzzin lads
Hell Pride are in the same trailer.
Im not even a DMC guy, watched my friend play it as a kid, but hot damn does this look goooood.
You need to play 1,3 and 4 or else you'll be missing out
If I've only played DMC and loved it, is it worth playing the original (proper?) ones? Given I won't have the nostalgia value and I'm kinda a sucker for graphics
i played DMC1-3 for the first time only like a year ago and DMC3 quickly became my all-time favorite game if you like really good combat you'll like the DMC games
I really loved the combat, might try pick them up in the next sale!
Yes DMC1 might be a bad place to start because it was the first of its kind and it might feel like a step backwards (you might miss things like aerial juggle combos) but definitely give DMC 3 and 4 a try. Start with DMC3 because 4 is a step up from that in complexity. When you play DMC3, make sure to try out all of the different styles (Trickster, Royal Guard, Swordmaster and Gunslinger) because you'll be missing out on a lot of the gameplay depth otherwise. Swordmaster and Gunslinger give you more moves, Trickster is the "easy mode" style where you get a better dodge (if you skip any of the styles I recommend skipping that one) and Royal Guard is the big shot hardcore gamer style where you can counter with perfect timing to build up massive damage attacks (I can't do this at all because the timing required is ridiculous, but at least try it). I usually play through most of the game with Swordmaster because it gives you extra weapon moves that are really useful, including the classic midair juggling moves that every character action game has nowadays. If you're a character action game aficionado DMC3 might feel a little bit simplistic (it's also a bit too easy to get lost in because of bad level design) but it's definitely worth starting with. DMC4 is probably the deepest game in the genre though so definitely give it a try.
Someone managed to leak some options menu stuff and brief snippets of the prologue footage from Gamescom builds, so watch out if you want to enjoy the experience relatively blind outside of the trailers.
And yes, if you're new to the series, entirely skip 2. It's bad in such a way that it genuinely feels like you're wasting time playing it.
What's the best version of DMC3? I heard the PC version has a lot of issues and the HD collection of the games has problems as well.
I'm playing through DMC1 for the first time right now and it's fucking weird how this series OBVIOUSLY started off as levels cut from Resident Evil 4's prototype and ended up becoming the series it is today.
HD Collection plays fine for 2&3, 1 has missing graphical effects and fucked up sound. Play the PS2 or 360 version for 1.
They actually apparently changed some things unintentionally in the hd versionof 3, gameplay wise. But to anyone playing it new they shouldn't notice.
It was probably for the best that Mikami decided to spin this off into its own series because that sounds batshit insane for Resident Evil.
The only thing I noticed was that Crazy Combos require you to mash faster to get them out. Not a big deal for me, even on turbo, aside from some of Agni and Rudras crazy combos.
Heads up everyone: some dude with a potato cam leaked footage of him playing the prologue of the game, which has MASSIVE spoilers. They're all over the web now, so if any of you want to go in blind, you'd best beware.
Someone's getting fired
