Looks like too much supercars. What I want in a Top Gear/Grand Tour game is a mix of Spintires and My Summer Car.
This is far from Amazon's first foray into games, AWS has been a huge game hosting option for about as long as its been around, and Amazon Lumberyard, a game engine focused around hosting on AWS has been available since 2016.
Yeah that gameplay part so far looks like just some very high-end looking mobile game so far. They really should had just gotten a collaboration with Forza Horizon since the Forza games are already Top Gear/Grand Tour games, sans the presence of Clarkson, Hammond and May.
So beyond looking like a late PS3 era game with no anti aliasing. I think the more offensive thing is fast cars being fast cars while Clarkson shouts about how cars are fast. What could a run of the mill Grand Tour racing game possibly offer over Forza or Gran Tourismo?
Grand Tour adapted to gaming should be about dicking around with stupid vehicular physics engines using customisable vehicles. A true Grand Tour or Top Gear game would be fucking nuts, it'd look a bit like Garry's Mod, Spintires, Jalopy and a bunch of other weird systemic driving games. But that would be niche as all hell and extremely challenging to develop, so they're not going to do that. They must know this, they even used clips of the gang's crazy antics in the trailer.
IT'll b eworth its weight in pure diamond if this means we can get models of the big 3 into Gmod and SFM lmfao

It's really good. Didn't watch Top Gear all that much, but this seems like the bigger and better version.
The writing is still there, the pacing is great, and it looks absolutely beautiful. Kind of makes we want to get an HDR television

and, of course, there's that episode in the first season that was just garbage
Which episode was that, I stopped watching after 15 minutes of the first episode because it just felt really really boring compared to old top gear.
The second ep of the first season, 'Operation Desert Stumble'
instead of being a car show, this episode is just a low quality joke dragged over 40~ minutes
as well as that, the celebrity brain crash segments in season 1 were pretty shitty too
Season 2 was so much better than 1, the brain crash segments were dumb and basically everyone skipped over them.
Also this game looks kinda eh, I guess they tried to get in with Forza originally but due to contracts, BBC likely tied in something to mean they can't do other show tie in other than TG and if they do, it'd void the contract.
So Amazon did what Amazon always does, makes its own version or outright buys it out.
Season 2 still suffers from some bits that are a bit too scripted, but it does feel a lot more like regular Top Gear
