Leave Deathtrooper the fuck alone. I fucking hate when shit like this happens on Facepunch. If someone wants to be poetic let them be poetic, it does not necessarily have any negative intentions behind it.
There was nothing particularly pseudo intellectual about it, it was simply meant to be written as a bunch of expressive dialogue.
Not every post has to be grounded or practical or even flawlessly reasonable. Just because someone decided to use an unusual combination of words does not mean that we have to point fingers.
Some of it could also just be emotional catharsis that does not even have to fully correlate with what the user wants to say.

If someone intentionally over-complicates their sentences, it can make the person seem snarky and pompous, almost as if they're trying to highlight the fact that they're better than everyone because they have a high IQ. There's an entire subreddit dedicated to it, too.
What confused me was the fact that, instead of describing how the song applied in a sentence or two, he added what seemed to be unnecessary detail, almost as if he was, you guessed it, trying to imply that he was a big boy with a big brain, and that he could could complicate his descriptions with detail to make it sound as if it were a poem, hence my comment.
I never said that every post had to be reasonable, I simply stated that his post seemed really obnoxious in a thread about something so tragic. The only reason I found the need to point it out was because it was out of place. Standard protocol usually dictates that a user may leave a reply, maybe have a brief conversation with another user, and leave. But this post was just so weird.
This'd make sense if he stated "Just releasing some repressed emotions, man.", in fact, if that had occurred, I would have left it at that. But his reply to my reply implied that he had no Idea what I meant originally by "Poetic", as to him, he just tried some creative writing. But to me, he was acting smart for the sake of acting smart.

I don't think my brain can process the fact that, with the staggering rapidity at which we develop new technologies, the pace at which we bring ourselves closer to the end increases at an equal, if not superior rate.
And from my tiny chair in my tiny apartment in this tiny town all I can hope is that our perceptions of the world as about to draw to a whimpering close is but the result of exacerbated anxieties and that, down the line, the issue as severe as it is may not result in the extinction of what could very well be the only form of sapience in the entire universe.
We can't go back to what once was, not with how far things have gone, but now the question is whether we will adapt to the landscape we ourselves have built, or if we will proverbially, and literally, sink to the bottom.

I didn’t think it was BAD. Maybe a just a little bit over dramatic at most, but nothing terrible.
I don’t think that’s necessary the case given that companies have pretty successfully thwarted most measures against climate change with propaganda and climate change denial being a mainstream viewpoint. I know climate change is bad but I don’t know what the full effects or consequences will be at our current rate.

Bear in mind the news is only going to show us the worst possible thing. There's reason to be upset, and to be concerned, but not to despair. We need to do more, but there are things being done right now to mitigate climate change. Giving in to hopelessness will not solve anything.
All this news I keep on hearing about is very concerning, but what CAN we do ourselves to stop this shit from happening? Serious question, not rhetorical. And I do not want "we cannot do anything, so hopeless". Less talking, more doing.
Change your lifestyle, be an example to others. Work at the grassroots level to raise awareness about local and global issues. Things only change if the average person feels like they can do something.
With all this news about climate change, I kind of got lost as to how to make an impact. You are right, thank you.
