Good show. I recommend
I cannot wait. Mein Fuhrer is ready.
I've been watching the show recently and I'm up to Ep 9 of S2. It's pretty good. The middle of S1 is kinda slow and boring, but the worldbuilding kept me interested. I can't believe you can feel actual sympathy for Hitler and some of the nazis, but here we are with this show.
S1 has a few writing and pacing issues but is otherwise great. S2 knocked my socks off and kept me in a continuous state of having my socks knocked off for the entire duration 8/10 highly recommended.
Glad to hear that. I've been very slowly working through S1, as in I started it months ago, lost interest, and just recently managed to work through the rest of S1, which I quite enjoyed. Glad to hear S2 is much better, because I really like where the story is headed from what I've seen.
It's significantly better, in my opinion. I'm glad to hear you're giving it another go!
The world is what really drew me back in, it's phenomenal, and the actors/characters are all pretty terrific, especially John Smith and Inspector Kido(who doesn't seem to appear as often in Season two from the looks of it unfortunately). Definitely gonna try to finish season 2 in time for the release of 3.
John Smith is fuckin badass holy hell, and his performance is so good that it led me to call a literal Nazi a "badass," 10/10 show
God, this is probably one of the most visually spectacular shows I've ever seen. I wonder what their budget is.
The best part of the show is by subverting your expectations. It's not as black and white as "Nazis bad Americans good!". Also Tagomi is such an adorable grandpa
They have Amazon money.
Rufus Sewell is a good actor. I'd recommend watching Dark City (1998) as he's the main character in that.
Definitely gonna check that out. Going off just the photos alone, the aesthetic of it looks amazing.
Dark City is one of my favorite films. I don't rewatch films. I've seen Dark City 4 times. It's one hell of a ride. I highly recommend it.
You have the power.
I think that's the reason his name is so bland tho, like to show that anybody can be a Nazi, even the most generic man alive
John Smith, to me, represents a twisted version of the classical American dream. Patriotic, dutiful working man (with a typical/common American name), loving wife and kids, white picket fence home, and a dog (German Shepard instead of a Golden Retriever).
