• How is the game doing?

Hey guys, I just reinstalled overwatch after not touching it for like 2 ish years. I remember burning out about a month after sombra got released, I dabbled with orisa once or twice but I had just lost interest. Well today out of sheer curiosity I reinstalled it and was pleasantly surprised at how fun the game was still. After playing a few matches it seems to still be doing alright.I checked around the subreddit and a few youtube channels and couldn't find much other than some gameplay of wrecking ball. My question is, how is the game doing? Have the player numbers stayed consistent through 2018? Is this game fading from relevancy or is it still up there with the likes of fortnite and r6? Is their some new meta? last I played it was all about tanks. If there isn't some controversy I dont know about Im thinking of diving into it again. Wadda u guys think?
There are a lot of things wrong with the game, yes. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't play it. If you think it's fun, then play it. IMO the game has NEVER been up there with Fortnite. Other than that, yeah I've noticed a slight decline in popularity but you should be able to find matches as fast as before. In the case of this game, don't even worry about the meta. It's all fucked up. But it's far past dives. Look at the top picked heroes if anything. I usually only see 2-2-2s, 2-3-1s, or 3-2-1s (attack-defense-heal). Personally I believe that if your team can play their picks it doesn't really matter with composition you run either. But healers are a must. But I guess the latest thing that's happened is that they're selling more skins for money like they did with Pink Mercy. Not sure if that qualifies as "controversial". Again, if you find it fun then just play it. I mean I'm not even sure where this game is going any more but I still play once in a while and it's pretty fun. I think the key here is to not take it too seriously.
Game has been on a gradual decline for a bit now. Community consensus is that only the Overwatch Archives event is worth tuning in to and the rest are very low effort and stale. Other than that its largely the same as it used to be, hasn't really changed much other than new heroes/balancing tweaks.
Do you personally think blizzard is slowing down development?
Its still a game that I hate but still play daily, because every once in a while I get good teammates that communicate and aren't toxic shitheads
Its pretty much a fact that it has. Seems like a lot of resources are getting pooled into the esports scene rather than the game.
There's a few balance kinks here and there but the game is okay. The community however...
Community however is still salty. You coulda seen that before. :P
"Salty" is putting it very lightly.
Cuz I ain't the Salt bae. :P
