Apparently the lobby scene with the moving carpet is an extremely accurate recreation of LSD's actual effects.
If you go into a drug trip and expect funny hallucinations, you're going to get your ass kicked by the mindfuck of the drug sticking its dick in your brain and turning your thoughts into soup.
The LSD carpet scene is a better depiction than most, but in my experience the undulating expansion effect tends to be more circular and there'd be more of a rainbow of colors mixed in there somewhere. I dunno about the carpet pattern crawling up the wall either, can't say I've seen anything quite like that.
I should give the book a re-read.
yup, It's more than fun hallucinations. it really fucks with the way you think and perceive reality
It messes with all your senses, but as long as you know that it's all a trip and you don't lose yourself to negative emotions, it's a very enjoyable experience and you'll still be able to function.
I saw the whole world swing side by side. I heard voices from the crowds i was in change in high and low pitches come from all directions and distances.I watched my arm age and rot away.
It was all so crazy, but I knew why it was happening and I enjoyed it all, even my arm rotting. That was awesome.
