This game looks kinda scary.
i wish konami gave this much of a shit
Don't worry, the town may be full of monsters, but there's also pizza.
Nice, why isn't it on Steam? How do I buy this? I want pizza.

Time to take the high seas then.
Massive respect to those who work on stuff like this, they are true friends of the videogame world.
If there's anyone else wanting to play the series google for a silent hill paste bin, it should help you getting into it. Also this Everyone needs to play SH as soon as possible tbh
Surprised they didn't fix the first scene they show in the video. The ps2 version had the town covered up more in fog so it didn't look so obvious it was just a huge texture.
I played through the game earlier this year using these enhancements, and it was a real treat. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to get into Silent Hill.
One of the few games that I think everyone should play at least once. With all those fog fixes (along with everything else) looks like the PS2 version has been dethroned as the definitive version to play. Really? I don't remember it being THAT covered up. I think the PS2 version hides it better just by virtue of being rendered at such a low resolution. I just looked up PS2 gameplay and the fog levels look pretty similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUnvAuauSW4
SH2 is my favorite horror game by far, definitely gonna go through it again with these mods
You know, I always thought horror games from older consoles looked scarier because of engine limitations. Don't know why, maybe it's because the lack of extreme detail makes the mind fill in the blanks, creating more immersion?
basically
This game has probably the best sound design ever for an horror game, it's a masterpiece for sure.
The Silent Hill series is amazing and all, but I don't think I could ever play it myself. It's been a while since I watched playthroughs of the games, but iirc a lot of the puzzles are so ambiguous and weird I don't understand how anybody could figure them out.
In the entire series, the only place I've had issues with was the first part of the Silent Hill 2 apartments, it's not that hard really. The only place you can shoot yourself in the foot is by setting Silent Hill 3's riddle to hard, but even then, it's possible with a looot of patience.
For me, Silent Hill 1's puzzles were a hell of a lot more confusing than Silent Hill 2's. I'd say Silent Hill 2 is a lot more approachable to newcomers than 1.
I've actually just been playing through SH1-3 recently, mostly running in emulators since I've heard the PC versions are janky af. If only this was a thing a few weeks ago Though really, SH2 with the resolution bumped up in PCSX2 holds up astoundingly well. What an amazingly well crafted game.
Neat, one of the fixes lets you run the game at 60 fps. Apparently causes audio bugs with some guns but I'll take the risk
