https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/guardians-galaxy-3-production-hold-james-gunn-firing-1137400 I wonder if Dave Bautista's recent tweets at Disney has influenced this.
Go Dave Bautista. Maybe he has rallied the primary cast/crew to stand up to Disney.
bring back james gunn already disney its okay to make mistakes as long as you make them right
So much for the "Disney had to fire Gunn because they would have lost more money if they hadn't" argument.
Well I'm glad Disney's stupid decision is costing them a lot of money.
You joke, but if they actually did that, firing James Gunn would likely end up being the most costly mistake Disney has ever made. Especially depending on how involved all the guardians are. Then you factor in the cancellation of a third installment in one of the most beloved Marvel franchises, costing hundreds of millions of dollars of potential profit, and you have an absolute financial disaster. All because the alt-right was mad that someone didn't like Trump.
I hope Dave and the rest of the cast win in the end, without Gunn this movie is fucking dead in the water
Never understood why the tweet thing got popular again. Gunn apologized 6 years ago for those tweets and never did them again.
The news blew up and has remained in the headlines because he was fired almost immediately, not because of the tweets. The reaction to Disney's decision has been largely negative in every circle other than the alt-right, and I legitimately believe the story would have blown over if Disney had held their ground and supported James Gunn rather than throwing him to the wolves. Instead, Alan Horn and Iger have ensured that Disney is never going to hear the end of it - especially if future decision prove that they're holding a double standard. *coughPOTC6coughJohnnyDeppcough*
He was mean to Trump, therefore he deserved to have his entire career destroyed over ancient shit.
Wasn't Gunn working for Troma back then? I'm pretty sure that they would fire you for not tweeting those things.
Probably just wishful thinking, but they might just let this blow over and hire Gunn again. Its kinda sad to think that if Disney was in control of the first Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. never would of been cast as Tony Stark.
The MCU was planned how far in advance? Who even knows the scope of how much Disney just fucked everything up.
oh man it would be so fucking sweet if a decent chunk of very popular and talented actors gave Disney the huge middle finger and decided not to star in any of their MCU films from now on. with a well-established career, disney has pretty much zero leverage to blackball you in the industry, and with the circumstances around the Gunn fiasco, i'm sure there is no shortage of directors and production companies willing to fly in the face of the House of Mouse
All because Disney are hypocrites and don't practice what they preach.
Frankly his biggest mistake was keeping those tweets around instead of purging his account like everyone else who gets a big job in any form of entertainment should. Tweeter is a cesspit that makes it absurdly easy to kill someone's career, or their long term interest in something.
Disney need to get their shit together
Between Marvel and Star Wars, Disney is operating on delusion as they run their successful franchises into the dirt.
Didn't he delete those tweets, and the guy used Wayback or something?
I wanted WB to hire him so the DC live action movies can be a quarter as good as their animated films
not if you make them on twitter, cause that means you'll get death threats from people who don't care but just want to cause a scene because it makes their empty, hollow lives feel better
Nope, I saw them live at the time of the accusations.
What's really fucked about this whole situation is that Cernovich and his goons managed to successfully play basically everyone and escape scot free whilst every other party involved suffers the consequences for it.
Supposedly this is just a delay to find a new director I hope a lot of people turn them down
"Jackass who deserves to have his voice removed from the internet forever." I don't think it is wise to advocate for the silencing of voices. As for the guy who dug this up, did this all happen just after Gunn gave a "sick burn" to the Teen Titans trailer? If so, do you think this might have been dug up by a DC fan boy?
A DC fanboy. Sure. Whatever. Mike Cernovich never does anything 'big' if it isn't political in any way. Here is the cunt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Cernovich If the word degenerate was ever aplicable it would be for this guy. This sociopath is a known rape apologist, white genocide truther and a proponent of Pizzagate. To call him redpill is in his own words "not enough" This dude is a self-proclaimed blackpill and chooses to spread his misery to others.
We live in the era of reputation and Mike knows it. He knows how much power he has but honestly it's up to people to not listen to his bullshit or at least call him out on it.
Dafuq is a blackpill?
Assuming it's the same as Contra describes in this video (timestamped to explanation), redpill and blackpill refer to subsets of incel (involuntarily celibate) culture. In a nutshell, redpillers believe that the reason for their inability to establish and maintain relationships is due to a woman-centric conspiracy of systemically preferring "other" men while ignoring and/or exploiting men like themselves. Blackpillers are a subset of redpillers who believe that this conspiracy is so ingrained in society that there is no chance of them ever establishing and maintaining relationships, that they are logically damned to an eternal existence of lonely suffering, and the only conclusion is to kill themselves (and commonly others as well).
what mistakes? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5moUUFhmZM You mean making twitter jokes and having them taken out of context?
