French Tennis Federation President Bernard Giudicelli implied that her outfit did not show respect for the game or the competition lmao fuck right off a cliff
I mean, it's no more vulgar than the skirted shorts and polo shirts female tennis players usually wear. It looks like pretty average sportswear.
gotta love old coots who have nothing better to do than just being mad about anything and everything
i thought this type of suit was pretty common for running and such? really just seems functional activewear
I have a feeling this is more about the tradition of female competitors wearing skirts or dresses than vulgarity. Anne White was criticised for wearing this to Wimbeldon back in the 80s too https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/217809/73a8263e-dd36-4586-86c5-5dffe2ecd186/image.png And on the other hand, Serena's sister Venus wore a dress that was basically lingerie to the 2010 French Open and the French Tennis Federation didn't give a shit. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/217809/d25e64c6-4ed0-4d2d-b40c-58d865f08474/image.png
It's probably because they're like "but we can't ogle at that! That's not sexy for us! Make it sexier!"
If they can't beat her, might as well try to target her and demean her whenever possible. Fuck off and get good
I mean, I won't stop her from wearing a ninja costume to fight the ghost of Bruce Lee. I dunno why they are?
I'd hardly call that a catsuit, just looks like a standard sports bodysuit, hell it looks more conservative than what tennis players usually wear.
As the main article mentions, she isn't wearing it because she just like it, but because it helps prevent blood clots: The 23-time Grand Slam champion experienced life-threatening complications after giving birth to daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr and said the catsuit was more than just a fashion statement. "I had a lot of problems with my blood clots, and, God, I don't know how many I have had in the past 12 months. So it is definitely a little functionality to it," Williams said at the time of the tournament. "I have been wearing pants in general a lot when I play, so I can keep the blood circulation going. It's a fun suit but it's also functional, so I can be able to play without any problems." Williams later withdrew from her fourth-round clash with Maria Sharapova at the French Open through injury. She did not wear the catsuit in her most recent tournament in Cincinnati this month. The president should undo this decision, and then resign for such act.
As long as she doesn't show her ankles I don't see the problem.
dang, thats a really good looking + really functional bodysuit, but because you can't see 90% of her boobs, it's considered unprofessional

I struggle with sarcasm due to Asperger's, so is this fake or real? It seems waaaayyy too absurd to be real, but can someone explain.
Nah it's real they literally want her to take off her arms when she plays tennis.
It's not a catsuit though is it.
I thought it meant a fursuit. I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not.
You should be disappointed in yourself.
You know I came in this thread thinking she'll be wearing a furry costume well I'm very glad I was wrong
