regular advance wars vs days of ruin
why would intelligent systems make more aw when they can make bank from fire emblem waifu enthusiasts
Aw man, at work so I can't watch this yet but Advance Wars was my childhood introduction into strategy games I wish they'd make a switch title, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
DoR got a bad rap, but the entire story was actually great and creepy. Its like mad max mixed with some nazi experimentation shit.
Speaking of the Wars series, I really want a new Battalion Wars game. Those games had so much character.
Me and my brother would spend hours playing AW2 link play. I still have my old copy and my old beat up GBA. Good times.
I remember when Nintendo banned Caulder in the online play and people would use an action replay to play as him (and still lose).
I abused that Campaign Map Editor glitch like it eas nobodies business. Days of Ruin was pretty great, wish there was more Advanced Wars.
Advanced Wars introduced me to the concept of attrition.
I liked Days of Ruin
Sondga Who the fuck doesn't even know how to spell Sonja?
Wasn't a fan of DoR. Didn't like the change of tone, the characters or the colour pallet. But that's just me. I adored the original style and characters. I still have all of the games around here somewhere. I would love a new game, in fact I'd buy whatever system it would be released on.
I'd sell my best friend's kidney for a new next gen advanced wars
yo I don't even care if they anime waifu the fuck out of AW, as soon as that title drops the money has already left my wallet
Fucking hell. Squad Lead rosters similar to how you can put COs in units in Days of Ruin and instead of a fucking dating simulator, a battle buddy simulator.
For some reason Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is called Dark Conflict over here, and they changed a bunch of names of characters. And no it's not like they're now called Bobby Fishnchips or Dame Teawithcrumpets. Eitherway, it's a fun game though a bit odd how there's still so many people still around to be cannon fodder after an apocolypse. Shanoa is my favourite Advance Wars character.
Yeah honestly I wish we could get more games with mature themes like this from Nintendo, not that there stuff isn't great. It was the fist DS and Advanced Wars game I played and I was tripping how the protag wakes up and the start and everyone is dead.
Sami is already a waifu, you shush.
It’s not just the title and the character names. The ENTIRE English translation in the EU version is very different from the U.S. version, with the U.S. version goes for the “actual localization” route, while the EU version goes the route of being a more normal, truer/accurate translation of the Japanese script. The reason why is, much like for many EU releases of Nintendo games, because of what happened with Mario Party 8. For those who don’t know, Mario Party 8 had to be recalled there because one of the characters (Kamek I believe) uses the word “spastic” which is considered an offensive slur in the UK, then rereleased a month later with the word changed to “erratic”. After that, NoE became more involved when it came to English translations. This ranged from keeping the U.S. translation but simply changing words to their UK spelling (ex: Color/Colour), to entirely different translations. And even those ranged from having a more accurate translation of the Japanese script like in Advance Wars: DoR/DC and Splatoon, to translations that went in the opposite direction like in Tomodachi Life and even Smash 3DS (Trophy Descriptions specifically, I believe).
