That was a pretty terrifying crash and it's pretty amazing that they all walked away from it. Any arguments about having the halos ended yesterday. They might make cars a bit less attractive but there's a good chance a driver would be dead or severely injured right now without them. Even the people who were most against them, including Toto Wolff were brought around by this.
I hate that most typical argument against Halos, being that they make the cars less attractive. I mean yeah they do a bit, but if people cared about the cars being ugly, they’d hate how the cars are so long and how the front wings are so large these days. Instead I think that people just hate change. Halos are definitely worth it. They proved their worth as far back as Formula 2 at the Spanish GP earlier this year.
I know fuck-all about cars, but I'm very glad these are a thing after reading about how Tom Pryce was killed. The guy was decapitated inside his helmet by a flying fire extinguisher after he accidentally hit a marshall. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Pryce
