URGENT! Is this laptop worth my money? Need Urgent Answer

Hello.
I finally came back to my hometown, lreviouksy I was posted in a rural area. So i am wandering the town for a new laptop right now. But I need to get moving soon.
I came accross this laptop right now, not sure if the spec is worth it?
Need quick opinion whether I should get it:
Brand: MSI
Model: MSI-GP62M7REX-2621MY
Intel core i7 7th gen 7700HQ
Nvidia geforce 1050Ti
128gb ssd, 1tb HDD
8gb ram
15.6 inch screen
Price: 1045.00 USD
Worth it?
You can find better at around the same price on Amazon or Newegg
Lenovo Y520 (80YY0090US) 15.6'' GTX 1060 6 GB VRAM i7
Acer Predator 17 G5
Have another look around, you'll find something good.
Reviews of the one you've posted suggests poor thermals.
Go with a 1060, waaay more worth it
I doubt he's getting that shipped to Malaysia for cheaper.
OP: I suppose that all has to do with the Malaysian market. I'm not really familiar with it but you could compare pricing with any large retailers online.
Thanks a lot guys. I was aiming for middle ranged spec.
Due to time constraints, I settled with:
Omen by HP 15-dc0094TX
i7 8750H
Nvidia geforce 1050
4Gb ram
1tb HDD, 256 SSD
That comes to 1006 USD
OMEN by HP
Is this alright? I could do worse right?
I personally wouldn't get a consumer HP due to build quality but honestly that's true of pretty much every single budget oriented gaming laptop out there, so you could have definitely done worse. The one thing I'd recommend eventually doing is swapping that HDD out for an SSD, but at least it's 7200rpm so it should work.
That's replacing terrible specs with terrible specs and a gimped CPU. Are you going for serious gaming?
should have gone for the one with the 1060, imo those prices aren't bad at all
i bought a piece of shit laptop for like 500 eur (if the currency converter isn't wrong) apparently with a crappy 2nd gen i3 and a 635m,.
Nope.
Mainly for casual use. I just went for budget gaming laptop to cover for possible unseen future needs.
At times, Android or PC game programming.
And sometimes for intermittent gaming, mostly old games, emulators, PUBG, ect.
Yeah. Actually I was asking the shopkeeper to find one with an i7, and a mid-lower end graphic card, such as gtx 970. But there isnt any.
It seems that PS2 emulation makes better use if CPU rather than GPU, so I just asked for cheaper casual laptop that can cover mild gaming needs.
4gb ram
Oof. That ram number is probably going to hurt more than anything, just chrome will max you out.
If I were you I'd try to get a refund on that as soon as possible and grab a cheaper office laptop with 8gb ram and an i5, it'll suit browsing, word processing and emulation.
Whoops. My mistake.
The box itself list the RAM as 4gb.
But the specs I saw within the laptop itself is 8gb.
Maybe the box is just listing the basic variant spec. Since this is the middle range of the Omen laptop series, the actual spec is slightly different from the box.
I could go and change it to another variant with i7HQ processor with 1050ti (had to pay a little bit more for the upgrade), but if they're just about the same then I'll just keep this one.
Theres also cheaper office type laptop Pavilion HP with i5, nvidia ?UDP ?690 but the they only had 2 usb slots and other reduced specs, and I'm not comfortable to cut the spec too close to the minimum. Originally I wanted to take that one.
In the future I'll probably get more serious about gaming, in that case I'll get a proper full blown gaming laptop. This time I just wanted to replace the old 2007 Twinhead laptop with something usable. That old laptop only had integrated Intel graphic that can't even play OpenGL, with 2 burned out USB slots, its falling apart, but surprisingly can emulate PS2 with its CPU power alone. I cant lug my dekstop around too accross the country, so I'll just settle for something mediocre for now.
OK with 8gb you're fine. RAM doesn't really matter that much, but I was just conscious that being under 8 for basically anything is going to be a struggle.
