Didn't I read a couple days ago that there were rumors in the White House that Trump REALLY wanted to pardon Manafort and was considering firing McGahn to get rid of a dissenter?
Yet another White House lawyer gets the boot. Trump has zero intention whatsoever of attempting to "fight" this legislation on legal grounds. He is getting rid of every sane lawyer in his circle, and surrounding himself with underqualified hacks who don't question his will to commit heinous crimes against our nation.
And he and the GOP are literally positioning November as a fight for survival. They're privately acknowledging that if the Democrats retake the House they have the power to investigate Trump's dozens of scandals and can subpoena his tax returns -- and they're doing anything they can to avoid any chance of being held responsible for their shit. They're doing everything they claimed Obama was doing (when he wasn't) during his two terms. And many things they didn't even get around to accusing him of.
Trump is on fire today 🔥

Trump the kinda guy that bring his girl to an ice cream joint to break up... after announcing to the whole place that they’re breaking up, first.
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1034810550025433090 Interesting how Trump decided to mention Brett Kavanaugh in the same sentence as Don McGahn. Almost like he considers them to be related in some way...
Trump fires Rosenstein and Mueller with McGahn out, Kavanaugh leads a 5/4 decision giving Trump the authority to do so after the inevitable lawsuit. The population of DC storms the White House?
I've never wanted dirty laundry to be thrown all over the place as much as I want it if Dems take majority
Republicans "modestly concerned" and pledge to monitor the situation. But honestly I think that would be the single defining moment where the Republican Party is split into two, with "establishment" Republicans leaving or forcing out the Trump Cult and spinning off into two parties: Your garden variety of right-wing corporate stooge party, and the never-ending cocaine-fuelled hate bender that is the cultish fascism party amassed around Trump. I don't know if there would be enough of them, but there are still a good number of Republicans in Congress that are holding their nose for job security reasons and who will recognize when it's time to choose country over party, when the cost of being ostracized by the President will be a burden undertaken with pride and not a career-ending threat. Fuck I hope I'm right. The future of democracy, liberty, and the rule of law in America unironically depends on it.
TIME is saying a lawyer who advised Clinton during the impeachment proceedings is in the running to replace him. http://time.com/5381999/don-mcgahn-emmet-flood-white-house-counsel/
