Watch ravic if you don't want to hear some guy yapping through the whole thing
i'm wondering if BF will ever get ballsy and make a 30 cal full power round one shot someone if you hit them in the chest. I guess that's probably what hardcore mode is for tho.
Its the only way I like to play Battlefield. When I hit someone with a high caliber bolt action I expect them to die.
I really don't wanna support EA's practices, but this looks like a direct improvement over Battlefield 1, and I already loved that a lot...
Christ the rotation speed on that Tiger turret is stupid. Also that paint scheme looks awful.
that whole fortification bit is really cool
I was thinking this too. I wish they'd just make tank turrets behave like the field guns in BF1 (fixed max turn rate). This would not only prevent it looking totally retarded but also help to balance something notoriously difficult-to-balance.
I hate the majority of the weapon sights.
When you can see clearer around the sight than through it, you know something's fucked up.
I think some dev said that they were thinking/planning on limiting turret rotation speed. I remember it being really weird in BF1 as well, where an artillery truck could 180 their barrel in a second and blast you if you flanked them. Also the AA guns.
To be fair Jack only talks through half the video but yeah Ravic is my goto for pure high quality gameplay
So is there a reason swastikas still aren't being used besides bs feared controversy? I assumed it was originally because Germany didn't allow them in video games but i thought they recently overturned that.
Most of the assets were probably finalised before that judgement was made. It may change by the release but it's probably not going to because swastikas aren't exactly crucial to the game. It'd just be a small nicety to have for historical reference and accuracy.
Game looks good but that V1 bomb was fucking lame sound wise, you'll think DICE would be able to master how terrifying the sound was.
I mean, this clearly isn't the Third Reich, what with black female Wehrmacht soldiers and all...
All the rest of the sound is superb though. Rounds now crack constantly instead of it being solely snipers, guns sound a lot more powerful than BF1/4, and planes are loud as fuck when they pass.
Yeah DICE are probably the best when it comes to sound, maybe they'll change the V1 later. Half the fun with these games is the amazing atmosphere with the weapons and vehicles.
Also noticed the RTX window reflection just culled the building behind his model entirely.
According to a digital foundry video, DICE didn't have the hardware to run ray tracing until a few weeks ago, so the standart config has a lot of agressive optimizations in order to make it run on the workstations they had.
Battlefield 4 had the Barrett M82 and AMR-2 which would kill in one shot on literally any body part. It was balanced by the fact that they were pickup weapons.
Its also not just Germany that swasticas are banned in, that being said its not like it being banned in germany would prevent it displaying for other countries so it not being banned in Germany would change nothing for anyone else.
Dirty sights is a creative way to balance the reflex sights to not completely invalidate irons
A bit ridiculous on the Stag's reflex sight, but eh

They need to fix the turrets on tanks, it's not good when it can move as fast your mouse cursor can, needs to be more like, you look in a direction and then the turret catches up, set max rotation speed for it.
Good thing they recorded the sound of an actual original V1 engine for that ;)

What makes the V1 terrifying is not it's sound, it's when it stops.
From the footage I watched it seems that the V1/JB-2 rockets have much shorter flight times on Rotterdam than on Narvik. Maybe its map design, but it could also be rebalancing. The shorter time I think takes away from the dread you get because you don't hear the soft drone steadily increasing in volume for as long.
Personally, the infantry movement was great. Especially now that you can crouch sprint behind cover, making sneaking up on flanks so much easier.
Yeah, I skipped BF1 because it wasn't for me (I loved BF4), and I'm reservedly excited for BFV, I'll probably grab it once the typical day-1 issues are resolved.
I think the game will end up having meh preorders, but once it releases and all the critics realize its actually a great game (A la MW2 "boycott") it'll do fine.
If they intend on making the game more hardcore, they need to remove the cheaty 3rd person view from vehicles and replace it with a periscope.
Honestly, the way I'd handle it would be more akin to switching between the default FPS scope view and have a very quick animation of you popping out of the commander's cupola for a quick view around the tank. It'd look cool while still nerfing the cheesy 3rd person view.
I'm honestly expecting the game to have a weak launch, but potentially a comeback akin to games like Siege or For Honor if they don't kick the bucket with the game right away.
