Amazon - "QUICK, INJECT AS MANY PHOTOS OF HAPPY EMPLOYEES INTO THE INTERNET"
Literal propaganda
Reminder this is the same cucklefuck of a corp that that started shilling on twitter to try and defend themselves.
Why do people even keep on buying from Amazon. If they aren’t going to give a shit about their employees, then stop buying from them.
It's really hard when they have a monopoly on an infinite load of items, giving the absolute best deals, with unmatched delivery rates and times.
I cant spend 500 dollars per textbook
Because their service is unrivaled in both convenience and effectiveness. Every other retailer has tried to compete, and none of them are even making a dent.
my current checking account is in the double digits.
My savings is even less.
Yet more evidence that relying on people to "vote with their wallet" to make your shitty, broken economic system work is a bad idea.
Not my idea. I could have told you it doesn't work. It's the same vein of thought that gives us "Trickle Down" economics...
Oh not "you" as in you specifically obviously, just "you" as a general term.
Absolutely, but anyone who still buys from Amazon is actively supporting the terrible working conditions there. No one can continue to buy from Amazon while simultaneously whinging about their work practices, without being a hypocrite.
Do I have to post the Matt Bors comic
Capitalism can't expect people to act selflessly. That's what democracy is for. You have a lot to lose by boycotting but usually no evidence that you're making a difference. You have nothing to lose by voting. That's why capitalism works when regulated by a government elected by a properly functioning democracy. The problem is, we don't have a properly functioning democracy.
American democracy is regulated by capitalism. Whoever invests the most in a candidate wins.
I mean, as an individual, my priority is to accomplish something in the least resistant way I can. I fully support regulating the missteps of Amazon, but to assume people will regulate themselves is silly. This is what government is for, this is what voting is for.
Because it's the most convenient and price-concious shopping service that has ever existed.
all you have to do is view the replies to the (below) amazon tweet

Can you post it anyway? I wana see

I think this is the relevant one?
Amazon is just way too convenient. I don't want to go back to the old days of Christmas shopping by walking around the malls and hoping to see something interesting. Other online shops don't
offer as good of deals either and you'd have to search through multiple sites rather than it all being in one place.
*in the speed and tone of someone shouting out of a passing vehicle* Boycotting does nothing and an individual's choice is meaningless to a trillion dollar corporation!
So just roll over and let corporations fuck over the world? I suppose it must be worth it, just so you can buy things maybe 5% cheaper than anywhere else, and maybe get things delivered a day earlier than otherwise.
In this thread: people being ridiculously pessimistic, and giving in to corporations too easily.
At what point did any of us say "yeah fuckit, let's give up"? No. It's just that boycotting is obviously not a viable solution because if I boycott Amazon I have no control over whether their other billion+ customers do, we need to find a better solution than "eh, I'll just like buy from some other slightly less shit company and enough hope other people do the same that Amazon even actually notice". This is intentional btw, capitalism is engineered to benefit and protect those with capital. Voting in governments that regulate and appropriately tax these companies would be a good start. But unfortunately, the USA would need to be a bit of a trendsetter here, and the only thing Americans find scarier than tax and regulation is gun control.
I can't wait to see that backfire.
See the problem with this is that Apple actually has competition. Amazon really has none I can think of for a lot of things. For instance there's just some things I can't buy anywhere else online.

I love how this was obviously an idea from someone who needs help sending emails out.
"Why dont we just get those robots to help us out on the twitter? It worked for trump!"
Then some poor fellow had to implement this horrid idea to the best of their abilities.
I can't tell if this is supposed to be another one jutting into the conversation or not, but it is funnier to read it as a direct response posted from the wrong account, and I will continue thinking this because hot DAMN is this astroturfing bonkers
