Took their time, he should've been suspended when he got into bed with RT.
Thank you to bring something differnet from Scottish politics in last 11-14 years, Replacing Scottish Labour Party status from Major party to Minor party as example. And again Mr. Salmond thank you and your legacy is now mixed for now.
I'll hold my opinions till the trial is over. He did the right thing in stepping down. The next referendum can't come sooner.
I know that except if Conservative Party accidentally allowed them to do this again. But besides that, His former partner and now First Minister Sturgeon's is sad of his leaving their party. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-45350594
The volume of civility is pretty palpable in their responses. It's rare.
The Scottish parliament is usually extremely civil. It doesn't have the stand off atmosphere of Westminster. Because it's a unicameral system it pays to be civil. They need to act as Commons and Lords, usually a cross party team will be assembled to hammer out bills. If you act confrontational you won't be considered seriously and no one will want to work your input into the bill. It's sort of like the valve wheeled desk version of legislation.
It's why I'm so eager for a second referendum now that Brexit has truly sealed the deal. I can't wait to see a Scotland free from the backstabbing cloak and dagger politics of England and hope to fuck it doesn't turn out the same later down the line.
Frankly I'd rather be a little poorer in government services if it meant the politics were on point. Just being free of FPTP would be a good start. However, the polls show that people aren't keen on indyref2. I think the farce of Brexit has manifestly demonstrated the farce that Indyref could have turned into - that said, I seriously think Scotland would have had a much better and more motivated negotiating team, with more preplanning.
