In perhaps another bid to try and remain relevant or take up column inches, Nigel Farage has declared he is interested in running against Sadiq Kahn to become London mayor.
In an interview with the Financial Times, he revealed that the idea has been suggested to him and that he is "thinking about it."
I have been encouraged to [stand] by a group of people, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to. I haven’t said no to it, I’m thinking about it.
If he were to run for mayor, the former UKIP leader will have to wait until the next election in 2020 to see if he could unseat Kahn, who is widely expected to be re-elected.
Now, we don't need to point out the obvious here, but as a fierce supporter of Brexit, something which is very unpopular in the capital, and as a politician who failed to get elected to
parliament seven times, it's possible that Farage wouldn't fare too well with London's diverse population. That's merely a thought we are putting out there, but it would appear that
people on Twitter think the same.
Nigel needs to just flee the country again.
This would literally just be a vanity play, London is a Remain and Labour stronghold, it's one of the worst places in the country that he could run. And he already lost in the best place he could possibly run in 2015.
Political quitter not contempt direction the country is heading. Unquits politics in hopes of ruining the country even harder
His dedication to fucking the country is staggering
Why can't you guys like just put a limit
Because now we get to publicly humiliate him again.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's deliberately running because he knows it's the least likely office for him to win.
