holy carp is red dead really causing so much fear and speculation that ALL triple ayyyyy games are delaying themselves?
that or their word on delaying due to gameplay tweaks is genuine.
that or people really don't like EA now
Could be the RTX implementation along with less competition. They said the RTX hardware was dumped on their laps like a month before them showing off what they got so far.
EA shares plunge on 'Battlefield V' release delay
Heh.
said niche feature is gonna get a decent number of people to ayylmao their way into new hardware, there's definitely money to be had in well-implemented RTX support, even if it's from nvidia directly.
When its the most prominent game for said niche feature and EA is undoubtedly getting huge kickbacks from Nvidia, I would think that could be a reason why ontop of competition.
i would think only the PC version would receive the delay, since RTX features are PC only
A triple A title delayed? That's actually kind of rare.
One of their multiplayer game modes is not even ready
They also want a lot more time to evaluate feedback from the beta. They've already done a lot apparently from the alpha, since there's actually quite a lot of complaints.
I hope they fucking do something about it
Well everyone and their mother was complaining that it's too close to Blops4 and Red Dead so this is a complete good thing.
Not surprised but i dont care, im going to buy this game and enjoy the fuck out of it
Imagine the outcry if a PC oriented series was delayed without the console versions. You can't please everyone, and I rather them have extra time to optimize and fix things than rush it out the door beside 2 behemoths. What dice was able to do in a month with RTX was incredible, imagine giving them another month to work on it further.
within the time that I posted that reply, I also learned that 2 of the major 3 multiplayer modes are apparently not even done yet, so that explains the all around delay, and brings into question whether or not EA knows what they're doing anymore. vv
Probably a bit of both to be honest.
They normally do great against COD for the most part, Im sure it was a shock to their system to hear RDR2 was coming out the same week.
No one can compete with a rockstar title, not even FIFA.
I think this is aftershocks from the Battlefront 2 disaster, the EA distrust is real. I wan't to like this game but I'm certainly not pre-ordering it. I didn't think the Alpha was that amazing, but it was such a small slice of the game so who knows.
uneven launches aren't great for AAA games like this, they're almost never as good as hype would have you believe and if people see finished, bad gameplay the hype train dies.
this is ignoring the fact that the game seems to be unfinished and broken, which likely is a contributing factor to the delay
Dice still spends tons of time with the PC community by and large. Any patches that get through to console, go to the PC community PTE first. Just because more people play on the console version, doesn't mean Dice focuses on PC community first.
What does " improving soldier visibility" mean in this context? The only thing i can think of is something like reducing cosmetics to an extent, if they interfere with the readability of classes and teams, but i'm not sure if that's what it's referring to.
Probably the on screen noise with the snow map. A lot of people were complaining about too much noise going on with the snow flurries (which looked amazing graphically). BF1 it was piss easy to spot enemies unless the weather changed to reduce visibility.
This is simply because the October release window is too crowded with other games.
EA has pushed unfinished games out time and time again and has defended its actions doing so, this isn't about polish.
I actually don't think anyone minds it being delayed
I dont find this particularly funny, this is exactly what makes them rush out a broken game instead of delaying it
Still don't know how I feel about the game but it's novel to see EA push back their seasonal FPS game. Even if its for wholly financial reasons like escaping the RDR2-Call of Duty release trap, this gives the devs a couple more weeks to work.
I really miss the optimistic rating.
I played the alpha for a while. It's good its delayed, there were some serious bugs I had and I watch a video saying the beta currently is still buggy. vVv

Don't release a broken ass game like BF4. At least have a decent even average launch performance. Like this game has enough trouble and drama around it.
