I played Rust since 2015 where me and my friend were students and had a lot time to play. We used to play 5-10 hours a day for several days until the servers were dead and we had a lot of fun. Since then, time had changed and we are not students anymore, which means a lot less time for Rust. We tried to play it for an hour and up to 3 a day but we were always behind and ended up getting raided so we stopped playing.
Because of that I was thinking of making a plugin for Rust that would allow people with a lot less time to play the game. My idea was to take the farming part of the game out completely and keep in the fun part, a.k.a. base building and combat.
Here is my idea: The server would have a wipe-cycle of a few hours. Every time, all bases get reset and players need to start anew. At the start, people form groups that get assigned a predetermined base on the map. When the cycle starts, every group has a fixed amount of time to build their base, for which they had limited resources. After that, they are exposed to the outside(before that, an opaque dome would shield them). Now they can loot barrels crates and monuments for scrap, which would be some sort of currency. With that, they can buy and unlock better equipment, guns and resources for their base. Fighting other players yields their loot and maybe some additional reward. That way, every group would compete against each other to dominate the map. This way, the game would still be exactly the same: combat and looting would be the same, raids for scrap would be possible and progression would still be a factor.
After a set amount of hours or when players agree to the server would wipe and all bases would get deleted and started anew. Oh, and a winner of the precious cycle would be announced. Maybe the one with most kills or scrap in possession?
Anyways, this is my idea and I would greatly appreciate any opinions regarding.
If I knew people would play this I would have the motivation to develop such mod.

If you rent your own low pop server you can use plugins to make it the way you want it, They are not that dear and
only take minimum upkeep just make sure you have one that has full FTP access, I dount that there is an existing
modded server that has what you want in the game and it would take a lot of time to go through every one to find one
that had a lot of the things that you require..

This looks so much like a concept I've seen for a Fortnite gamemode, where 4 teams battle each other in turns with some time to prepare (Not even sure if it's for real or not) in any case, if you make one, knock yourself out, but I'm not sure of how many people would actually join
